I’d read the reviews on this restaurant and was hesitant to come plaining because I had heard the horror stories about the waiting time. It didn’t help that when I went I was very hungry too, so I was fearing the worst but at least I had an idea in my mind. It could be a while.

It’s a big place, I’m talking 20+ tables, which, for the places we had been eating at, this seemed HUGE. We were seated quickly and we both made the decision that we would, choose what we wanted quickly, close our menus and look at the waitress’ when they were taking others orders to try and catch their eye so they come and take ours. It worked! I would say within 3-4 minutes order placed. Thai fried curry HOT, with rice, I like spicy food and haven’t had something, though I’ve said hot and spicy, that had made me even slightly struggle, No Name (first time trying them after seeing them on every menu, they are, as shown in the pic, little vegetable fritters, little like an onion bhaji), chicken tempura and red Thai curry on noodles.

As expected, food did take 50 minutes come but I don’t know if it was because I was really hungry or what but the food was fantastic. Portion sizes, quality, spice, it had everything. I was really impressed and had wished we had gone there earlier in our trip. It was the first time I had come away from a restaurant and was “stuffed”. We even had a few no name and chicken tempura left! Unheard of!!

All of this food came to 340 baht. Which honestly, I was pleasantly surprised at. So if you’re willing to wait, you will get some of the best food on Koh Tao...

Went for dinner here last night and was very disappointed by this place. The staff looked tired and overworked. Once we were seated we were acknowledged by the staff but it took 15minutes to get 1 menu for the 3 of us and another 20 minutes before we could place and order. Generally speaking this would not be a problem for us if all the staff were busy, however that was not the case at all. After a good wait 2/3 of our food was served. Since food usually isn’t served at the same time here this wasn’t a problem at all for us. But after 15minutes our last dish still hadn’t arrived.. Since it was impossible to get the staff’s attention, we had to walk up to the cashier and ask for the third dish (which they forgot). The dish arrived 15minutes later with no apology.. The food was mediocre, will not return to have dinner...

We came to this place for tea and ordered a stir fry curry and basil chicken and rice. The staff took our orders and then a table sat behind us around 15 minutes later which was 8+ locals. After 50 minutes of waiting the table of 8 got all of their food served and then ours was served a further 10 minutes later. I don’t mind waiting for food if it’s busy but to prioritise that table before us when we ordered long before they arrived was not very fair. Secondly, the other table next to us got offered a fried egg with their basil chicken but I didn’t even get offered if I wanted one. Overall the food was hot and tasty but it took over an hour to arrive which is a shame. There is places for cheaper and serving food quicker than here - across the road is a prime example of this which we will return to...

If it was on food alone it would’ve been 5/5! The food was tasty and a really good price, we had the chicken garlic and black pepper and the chicken Thai green curry. There’s loads of veggie options and different dishes we hadn’t heard of before, so lots of choice, mostly under 100 baht too! The thing that let it down was the incredibly slow service. We waited for just over an hour for our food, and although busy, it certainly wasn’t busy enough for this kind of wait. Every step took a long time, drinks, giving out menus, and cleaning tables etc. Such a shame, maybe it was an off day. Would definitely recommend trying, hopefully it would all be a bit quicker!

Went to have dinner after it got recommended to me, and came back the next day! The food was great, specially the red curry (both on noodle and with rice), and the fried noodles with chicken were soft and tasty. The prices are really low (less than 100 bats per plate) and the service was really family style. The only thing I would mention is that they serve slowly, so if you are in a rush take it into account. But the good thing is that if you are in Koh Tao probably you do not need the rush :) Also, might be a bit packed, so plan accordingly.
