Krua thai — Restaurant in Surat Thani Province

I really don’t understand positive reviews about this place. First of all it’s not relaxing place,all members of the staff are just standing right in the middle or walking around which creates weird and tense atmosphere. Imagine you are being watched while you are eating? The food is not any better.Completely tasteless, absolutely everything we ordered was inedible. They even managed to do something wrong with tofu, it tasted strange, it was fried tofu, but it tasted like it was cooked from frozen- but not properly cooked.So, to be on the safe side after one bite I decided to leave it. My husbands prawns were mashy, again like they were left defrosted for to long. The rest of the food, salads and rice were tasteless, no spices, no flavour. They brought everything at the same time, within 10 minutes since we ordered, which just confirmed my suspicions about the freshness of food. How this is Thai restaurant...

Located on Fisherman Harbour. One of the best structured restaurants here. Beautiful decor and ambiance. Clean and properly decorated. They have tables on the beach which is good when weather permits. Food is good, not top but not bad as well. All the diners were guests from the hotels. It seems the restaurant has good connection with hotels concierges. We had seafood dishes and were satisfied. The have fresh fish display but unfortunately our hostess didn’t explain to us that we need to go to Tuesday display to order (probably because of lack of English which the restaurant should take into account) so we ended up ordering from the menu which was just ok. Too bad we discovered this restaurant on our last night! It’s a neighborhood restaurant a lot like all of the others, but with some huge advantages. 1. My husband has been searching for a good gin martini this whole trip, and finally found it here. You literally cannot find a martini on this island. Really! Here, found. 2. The food is excellent! 3. The wine is good and also reasonably priced, with full pours, not like the quarter pours that we see literally everywhere else. This restaurant food is really good! Can’t forget to mention that!
