Mama’s Schnitzel — Restaurant in Surat Thani Province

Personally the best restaurant in Haad Rin in Koh Phangan, we stayed three days and came in every day the prices are very cheap and big portions, the first evening we had just two sandwiches and ordered as well lime juice which it was freshly squeezed, all their juices are delicious and made with fresh fruits, we came in also every morning for a freshly made apple juice that made me remember when I was little. The food it is extremely good also we had two sandwiches which were amazing we hardly recommend the chicken with bacon and cheese sandwich either grilled chicken or schnitzel both are amazing and the best for us it was the burgers, they were so delicious we had to order two more. An ok place to eat thats open 24hrs. They have a big menu with lots of fast food, western and thai food. The first day we tried the tofu burger with chips (130 baht) which was good but not amazingly nice. The bun was very soft and fresh but the tofu is just fried and quiet boring if you don’t add any sauces. The portion is good though and chips were crunchy. We went back to try the thai food and big mistake! Pad thai tasted like ketchup and very boring fried rice. They each cost 60 baht but have tried way better for the same price and these portions were very small. What I do love is the peanut butter shake which is damn tasty...

I arrived at the restaurant and without looking at the menu too much, I asked for a schnitzel sandwich. I got one with chips and assumed it is part of the dish. Later I was informed it was 40baht extra. I tried explaining that I didn't realize my mistake, but without even finishing my sentence, the waiter got mad and called me a liar and lifted his fist threatening to hit me. I wouldn't care to pay 40baht extra. All I wanted to say is that I didn't notice, and that if they could let that 40baht go, if he had just answered with a no I would've paid the full price and left, but he chose violence instead.
