TUKTA THAI FOOD — Restaurant in Surat Thani Province

After walking along the streets and the beach looking for a reasonably priced place to eat with Thai food for about 20 min I was about to give up. I actually stumbled upon this authentic Thai restaurant by accident. The restaurant next door, that I had read reviews on Google for, was closed. I asked the woman here if she offered tofu and she handed me a vegetarian menu. She was very friendly and the prices are very reasonable for the area. I asked for the panang curry with tofu and she asked me how much spice I wanted. The portions were the largest I have received on this island so far and there was a lot of tofu in the curry as well. It was the most delicious curry I have had so far! And I live in Chiang Mai... She also gave me the wifi password. I definitely recommend coming here! It's a little off the beaten track but well worth it. Plus you get the real authentic feel of eating like a local. I would much rather support her little restaurant than a big tourist restaurant any day! Best Thai food I've had on the whole...

Absolutely incredible dining experience! The crispy pork was perfectly cooked—golden, crunchy on the outside, yet tender and flavorful inside. The Tom Yum soup was an explosion of flavors—spicy, tangy, and aromatic, with just the right balance of heat and citrus. Every bite transported me deeper into the heart of authentic Thai cuisine.

Beyond the food, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the service was impeccable. The lovely lady who runs this place is absolutely wonderful—so kind, welcoming, and passionate about her food. You can truly feel the love in every dish. Highly recommend!

The food was unfortunately quite bland, lacking the seasoning and flavor we had hoped for. The service wasn’t much better; one of us ordered a Coca Cola, but they forgot it and had to be reminded, which shouldn’t happen even during busy times. While the ambiance was decent, it couldn’t make up for the underwhelming experience. Additionally, the prices felt too steep for the level of food and service provided, leaving us questioning the value for money.
