Vertigo Resto Bar — Restaurant in Surat Thani Province

Excellent food. However, the restaurant pretends to take you to the heart of Italy, instead, you are met with extremely loud and obnoxious Israelian music. I could barely hear my partner talk. The owner was extremely rude, with a grumpy face she wouldn’t even acknowledge us. That face quickly changed when Israelian people walked into the restaurant, hugging them, putting them on a bigger table and it seemed like she could only be nice to a certain type of people. Especially as an owner, you should treat your customers with the same dignity and respect as she did with the Israelian customers. The rest of the staff were mostly Thai people, they were incredibly friendly, but again I couldn’t help but notice that the lady who owned the place was extremely rude to them. The place looks nice, the food was good, but I refuse to eat somewhere and support a business of an owner who can’t be nice to her own staff. I’m in Thailand, looking for nice Italian food, so it shouldn’t feel like I’m stepping into a bar in Tel Aviv. If the owner was nice to everyone, and treated her staff with respect, this would be one of my favourite places on Koh Phangan, but they have completely failed what they stand for. Absolutely amazing food. The pate with sesame seeds and truffle oil is next level.

Very attentive and communicative staff, amazing atmosphere and crowd. 12/10. Wish this was at home.

Edit: specifically asked if they I could pay by card. Have done so at many other restaurants including much cheaper ones.

Spent way more than I would have if I had known I would have to send my wife back via taxi to go and get out ATM card to then get money out to get another taxi back to pay.

Staff attitude regarding their own inability to communicate was pitiful.

No apologies at all, just seemed impatient and annoyed.

I specifically asked before I ate. Specifically. Your business is 100% patronised by tourists. How do you not use tap pay? You don't think it's stupid to expect tourists to walk around with wads of thousands of Thai Baht?

That was an amazing experience from start to finish. Staff were very attentive and friendly, The food was prepared very quickly and came out in organised stages. I had the Braised wagyu with mash special and my partner had the duck with blueberry sauce. Both meals completely exceeded my expectations. presentation was on point and the flavour was just perfect. strong but not sickly. We normally don't do a desert but with such high quality mains we were both agreed it would surely be amazing and it did not disappoint. Creme Brulee was perfection. this restaurant has absolutely earned its near perfect rating and a must do experience for anyone visiting...
