NOODLES NOW Restaurant Bar Shop - Samui — Restaurant in Surat Thani Province

Must visit restaurant in my opinion in Koh Samui, even if out of the way for you. The food is excellent, some really nice flavours, not too oily or too spicy, but freshly made with quality ingredients.

Service is also so nice, the waiters come and ask if you need anything else and whether the food is to your liking, and in general were attentive, kind and polite. I’m vegetarian which made this even better, but regardless I would ask you to visit at least once during your stay.

We had the basil quesadilla, which was lovely and not too cheesy or heavy for an appetiser, and then one rice noodle soup and another fried wheat noodles - the one with green beans and a curry pocket, which for me was a first and such a nice variety in texture and taste amongst the noodles. The green leaves which had been added to the noodles were nice as well. I felt like I was eating a different kind of Thai food to what I was used to (coconut based curries) and this is why I really loved it.

The owners Mark and Bruce have just opened this restaurant and given how modest they are about what they've achieved, it's pretty close to perfection, both in the food and the ambiance. The decor is smart, modern but also relaxing. A super well stocked bar led to a brilliantly balanced Margarita and off we went! The food is easily amongst the best we ate on the island, seriously! Flavours went from subtle to intense, to surprising and everything in between. Excellent value for money, the menu is varied and it's clear that Mark cooks with local fresh ingredients, a great deal of passion, and technical skill.

Mark came and sat with us, Bruce joining us later, and we chatted on the patio as the rain started pouring down outside. It felt like the atmosphere from a movie! Priceless moments for us after a very long drive from Malaysia, and it's hard to explain the impact that sometimes comes from somewhere unexpected. If I lived on Koh Samui, this would be my local, no debate!

The quality of the food here is 5 🌟. Each dish is freshly made with quality ingredients. I can only agree with the previous 5 star reviews. The guys have done well to weather the covid lockdown and still emerge to produce some wonderfully cuisine. On our first visit, we followed recommendations and went with the peanut satay noodle soup with added steamed mushroom dumplings and cashew nut & green curry rissoles. The flavours were superb. Tonight, we went with everything veggie from the Thai Tapas list plus the prawn toast. It was very difficult to pick a favourite as it was all so tasty. The service is great. You are welcomed like a returning friend. The kitchen staff did a wonderful job in producing all of our Tapas selections at a consistent pace so as not to overwhelm us as we had selected 8 dishes.
