The Height — Restaurant in Surat Thani Province

The food was great, which was the highlight of the evening. We visited in the evening, so we missed out on the view, which I can imagine enhances the experience.

This is certainly not a fine dining or 5-star experience. So, don't expect that. As previously mentioned, the food was decent, but the service left much to be desired.

The service was bizzare, for example, a waitress opened a bottle of wine and then hurriedly sprinted up the stairs immediately after pouring 🤣

Tables weren't cleared promptly, staff engaged in personal conversations instead of attending to guests' needs, drinks were forgotten after being ordered, and napkins were overlooked until requested, upon which staff then realised other tables were also lacking them and began distributing them. Additionally, we observed waitresses grumbling amongst themselves about a guest at a table and rolling their eyes.

The waitresses are certainly in need of training, and the restaurant manager ought to establish some standards if they wish to be viewed as something more than what they currently are.

Atmosphere wise - absolutely none whatsoever. You could hear everyone else's conversations whether you were dining indoors or outdoors.

Absolutely great dining experience. We ate here twice and did a bit of the fixed menu the first night and changed it up for our final night. Chicken satay starter is extremely flavorful and perfectly prepared, we spooned the rest of the peanut and chili sauce when we finished. We had an incredible experience at The Height. The traditional Thai cuisine was a delight, and Chef Manee took the time to provide insightful explanations about the dishes.
