The Cockle Seafood — Restaurant in Wang Mai Subdistrict

My favorite seafood spot in Bangkok!! I would go here again, and also recommend anyone that visits to go to this spot. A 1 stop shop for all the local seafood dishes you can ask for for a set price of 729 baht.

The variety of seafood offered here really amazed me! The best part for me was the AYCE oysters!!! De-shelled raw oysters, but they still tasted delicious!

I could go on about what to get here, but here are some of my top favorites! Cockle are weird clam-like shellfish that I really enjoyed! They also had sea-snails that I rarely see on the menu! The baked mussels had a different blue shell color and larger than what I’m use to, but they were delicious!! Stir fried tofu with minced shrimp is another must get item! And crab meat fried rice was a nice reminder that we are in Thailand!!

Steamed squid was a nice and light refreshing item. And stir-fried morning glory was the only veggie dish they had on the menu.

Fair warning though, seabass (items 21-24) are served as the entire fish… we had too much to go around with 4 massive fishes on the table… be very careful ordering these 4 items.

Oh in addition, if you order the 629 baht or 729 baht buffet, there’s a 2 hour time limit as opposed to 1.5 hours, and you get unlimited soft drink, ice cream, and fruits! As a fellow coming from America, the ice cream tasted a bit generic and fake… it was refreshing, but not something I would come...

เกริ่นก่อนว่า เป็นร้านที่เมื่อก่อนมากินกับเพื่อนประจำ นึกถึงเป็นร้านแรกๆ ตลอด แต่ไม่ได้มาตั้งแต่ปี 2015 ถ้าจำไม่ผิด ตั้งแต่ยังมีกะหล่ำปลีทอดน้ำปลาแบบเก่า ถ้าเจ้าของเข้ามาอ่านจะรู้ว่าเป็นลูกค้าเก่าแก่จริงๆ

ทำเล : อยู่แถวด้านหลัง I’m Park Chula สามย่าน

ที่จอดรถ : มอเตอร์ไซด์สะดวก แต่รถยนต์อาจจะต้องจอดแถวนั้นแล้วเดินมา

ความสะอาด : ปานกลาง ปริมาณอาหาร : ปกติของร้านบุฟเฟ่ต์ จะค่อยๆนำมาเสริฟในภาชนะขนาดเล็ก แต่สั่งได้เรื่อยๆ

การบริการ : พนักงานฟังไม่ค่อยรู้เรื่อง เป็นต่างด้าวทั้งหมด รสชาติ : แย่กว่าเมื่อก่อนลิบลับ ไม่มีเมนูไหนที่รู้สึกว้าวได้เหมือนเมื่อก่อนเลย คุณภาพและความสดใหม่ : กุ้งและหอยนางรมไม่สด หอยแครงช้ำเลือดช้ำหนอง กินไม่ได้

ราคา : แพง เมื่อเทียบกับคุณภาพและการบริการ

ตั้งใจกลับมากินด้วยความคิดถึงเพราะไม่มีโอกาสเลย ทั้งเรื่องเวลาและวันหยุด รวมถึงเวลาบุฟเฟ่ต์ลาสออเดอร์ 19.30 น. วันที่มากินได้ เจอของไม่สด แต่ก็พยายามกินจนไม่ได้จริงๆ ตั้งใจเชคบิลไม่ได้คิดอะไร แต่เจ้าของร้าน ผู้ชายใส่แว่นรูปร่างท้วมๆ บอกว่าต้องคิดเงินค่าหอยนางรมทรงเครื่องเต็มจำนวน ทั้งที่เราแจ้งว่าหอยไม่สด และมีเศษหินในหอย ทานไม่ได้ ก็ยืนยันว่า “คุณลูกค้าต้องทานเข้าไปให้หมดครับ” ไม่งั้นต้องจ่าย!

ก็เลยต้องฝืนกินและบ้วนเศษหินที่พบบ้างออก

จากความรู้สึกดีๆ มาตลอดหลายปี เจอวันเดียวพังทลาย เหยียบความรู้สึกลูกค้าแบนติดดินไปเลย

ในยุคที่การแข่งขันสูง Service mind เป็นสิ่งสำคัญ คุณกลับเลือกที่จะไม่สนใจลูกค้า และใช้คำพูด น้ำเสียง ทำลายความรู้สึกดีๆ ที่เคยมีให้

คุณได้ทำลายป่นปี้ไปเลย ขอบคุณมากจริงๆ ครับ

Here is a restaurant that I used to eat with my close friends for years before pandemic. I always think of here when thinking about seafood, but I haven't been here since 2015 if I'm not mistaken, since there was still fried cabbage with fish sauce in the old style. If the owner come to read it, she would know that I was a really regular customer.

Location: located behind I'm Park Chula, Samyan, Bangkok

Parking: Free for motorbike but not for car

Cleanliness : Moderate Amount of food: they will gradually be served in a small container but you can keep ordering when finished.

Service : Employees don't really understand Thai nor English. They are all aliens.

Taste : Much worse than before. There is no such menu that is wow like before.

Quality and freshness : Prawns and oysters were not fresh. Cockle was rot.

Price: Very expensive compared to quality and service. We can not eat !

intend to come back to eat with nostalgia feel because there is no chance to come over. Buffet last order time has changed to 19.30 hrs.

On the day that I can come, I found that the food were not fresh, but I tried to eat until I really can't. Called the bill because couldn’t eat un fresh foos but the owner- chubby man who wearing glasses said that the full amount of oysters must be charged because left over. Even though we said that the oysters weren't fresh. And there were stone fragments in the clams that can't be eaten, confirming that "the customer must eat all of them"

Otherwise you have to pay!

Therefore we were forced to eat and spit out some of the stone fragments that were found.

From good feelings we had for many years, one day, you destroyed it and grounded our feeling of the customer.

In the era of high competition, service mind is important. Instead, you chose to ignore customers and use tone of voice to destroy our good feelings.

It has been completely shattered. Thank you very much.

I normally dont like to put a negative review on any places I have been as I do respect their business but this place is the worse service I ever experienced. We paid for the buffer $699 / person 6 adults 11 yrs old kid. This is 2 hours time limit. waiting time for food is too long and some food never turn up. staff are very ignorant. Asking for something and never bring it to us at the first time. we called before we book that can we pay by credit/debit card and been told that 3% charge. That is fine for us. When we want to pay they said if oversea card they will charge 6%. What the hell on earth? It doesn't matter that oversea or Thailand card, it is just a visa or master card. This very pissed me off madly. They also charged my newphew who is 11 yrs old as adult because he taller than 130 cm. So finally we been charged for 7 adults.

I strongly recommend that to any tourist not to go there. There are too many seafood buffets who can provide the same kind of food and better service. 2/10...
