I grew up in this area which was formerly known as แยกสะพานอ่อน and เซียงกง. Over 20 years ago, this was the business center of used car parts and engines imported from abroad, well-known among Thai people. Grids of shop houses with the kerbs thick with grime and solidified greases were a common sight. Without the childhood background of this place, it's near to impossible to imagine what this area looked like before the park was built. After the leases of these shop houses expired, I never expected this downtown area would be turned into a public park. Thumbs up to Chulalongkorn University in creating it, and in a very tasteful and elegant way as well. Now there's a park to rest the eyes and get refreshed with, not to mention it's where you can work out easily. You can also find what plants and trees are growing there as there are name tags almost on every plant and tree here. The landscaping is nicely done. It also has huge indoor yard and large carpark. An Amazon café has opened there too. Adjacent to it is "I'm Park", which was formerly part of สวนหลวง fresh market in the past too. Luckily, many yummy food shops that were once there have re-settled not far from here and still serve yummy food and desserts as they once did. Highly recommended public park with splendid...

recently visited Chulalongkorn University Centenary Park and was thoroughly impressed by its modern design and serene atmosphere. The park is a beautiful blend of green spaces and innovative infrastructure, making it a perfect spot for relaxation and recreation.

One of the standout features of the park is its windy and refreshing environment. The open layout and thoughtful landscaping allow for a constant breeze, which makes it a pleasant place to spend time, even on warmer days. The park’s modern design is not only aesthetically pleasing but also functional, with well-maintained pathways, seating areas, and plenty of shaded spots.

Additionally, the park serves as a vital green lung for the city, addressing environmental challenges such as urban heat and water management1. It’s a wonderful example of how urban spaces can be transformed into sustainable and enjoyable areas for the community.

Overall, Chulalongkorn University Centenary Park is a must-visit for anyone looking to enjoy a peaceful and modern outdoor...

Chulalongkorn University Centenary Park is a remarkable example of sustainable landscape architecture, offering a green oasis in the heart of hyper-urbanized Bangkok. Designed by LANDPROCESS and N7A Architects, the park successfully combines elegant simplicity, vast open spaces, and thoughtful ecological solutions — such as its gentle slope for flood management and natural cooling. I visited around sunset, and the atmosphere was vibrant yet calm — locals were sitting on the grass, chatting, relaxing, or jogging. The lighting was warm and pleasant, making it an ideal spot for both contemplation and social connection. The park also includes indoor spaces like a gallery and a climate-focused museum, though I didn’t have a chance to explore them this time. 🔍 Pro tip: bring mosquito repellent. It’s not too bad, but better safe than sorry. Definitely worth a visit for architecture lovers, urbanists, or anyone seeking a peaceful break from Bangkok’s intense pace.
