The decor of the restaurant is nice. It reminds me of a Miami type of decor. It sits right on the beach and both inside and outside dining is available. The menus were worn but readable. If you come during happy hour, before you order a drink, make sure it’s part of the happy hour selection. My travel companion made the mistake of not asking and had to pay full price. This is common in bars on the island. They have both Thai food and other selections like sushi, American style salads there is something for everyone. Both me and my daughter were disappointed with our choices. Mines was the lamb ragu. The menu stated that the lamb was slow cooked which did not reflect the ragu that I received which was minced meat or what we call ground meat in the States. Ground meat is cooked in five to ten minutes, not slow cooked for hours so either the description was wrong or they ran out of lamb to prepare for the ragu. Also there was barely any Ragu over the noodles which were al dente. It felt like it was just a noodle dish instead of a ragu. Service was slow to nonexistent. We had to go to the bar to ask to be seated. It took ages for someone to even take our order and to then bring us back the bill. There was a nice view to look at while waiting. This is a beach club or what we refer to as a marina club in the US, which means to be prepared to see people walk right by you in wet bathing suits. Distracting to me. Lastly I just so happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time because right in my line of sight, a Muslim mother stripped her 5-7 year old son naked for all to see, to change his clothes. I was told by my companion that this is common in European beaches but I was dumbfounded. When we left, there was an evening market beginning which made traffic slow to a crawl. Similar to what used to happen in Miami during biker week. My companion, that’s an instagram fanatic was so disappointed that she didn’t even want a photo to post. She actually made the comment that it was an instagram place because the food was...
Read moreTo all Pizza lovers in the world: Please don’t eat Pizza here! :(
One Star is for the location and the view :)
But the Pizza unfortunately was a disaster :( I really love pizza and eat around 2-3 pizzas a week and also tried eat pizza on every holiday. There was only one pizza which tasted worse than this one (Padang Bay, Bali).
I hope the chef is reading this review and rethinks everything he/she is doing while preparing the pizza. Some hints from my side: At first, please throw away the receipt you have. Second, forget everything you learned about Pizza. The next step would be to try a pizza in another restaurant. Here I can highly recommend to go to „Carpe Diem“ in Bang Tao. They do really a great pizza!
After doing all these steps you have to find another supplier for the ingredients. The cheese was more or less ok. But the dough was no pizza dough, the quality and the taste of the meat was bad and also rethink your tomato Sauce.
The rating would have been not that bad if you at the end would have given us some discount or a free coconut or something else. But you saw that I only eat a few sclices and the cheese of my pizza and my girlfriend just ate two slices. As I then saw that we have to pay the full amount, I was really sad. Especially as your prices are quite high :(
So whether you now try to do a complete rethinking of your Pizza you offer or just kill it from the menu. That would secure you from...
Read moreWe been to Flamingo Beach Restaurant for drinks couple of time…staff are so friendly and services are amazingly attentive.
We had a friend stayed there for a week so we were invited to joined him for breakfast as we stayed down by the beach front. The breakfast buffet were rather disappointing with limited selection plus they can’t even fried you an eggs instantly fresh as the eggs sit in the warmer for ages all still and hard.
On the hindsight, the coffee ☕️ were great! 👍
We never want to try the food since the experience with the breakfast…and not get disappointed by it.
Couple of nights, we head back for a drinks…the beautiful sunset kind of set it off…”why not give it a try with their food?”. Sound like a good idea.
It a complete disaster!!!!😫
We ordered the Fried Calamari, Margarita Pizza, French Fries and a dish on the menu description as “FRIED” Spicy Chicken with Beehives Ginger.
The foods arrived…sadly, the pizza, calamari came stone cold 🥶 plus the “FRIED” Spicy Chicken with Beehives Ginger were not “FRIED” but “STIR FRIED” in Thai style.
The description is completely deceiving. (We had to ask for it to takeaway based on the dishes we pick for the evening are all western cuisine).
The only dish that turned out hot and warm are the French Fries. 😫
We will be back for drinks again but definitely...
