OMG Sushi! — Restaurant in Trinidad

I tried Omg Sushi for the first time recently and chose the Dynamite also the spicy tuna for a shell food allergic person. The order was placed late at night before they closed (maybe after 8pm) and that was the biggest mistake I made.

As I got back indoors and opened the box the scent of old oil slapped my nose. They fry everything in the same oil as I was told by the employee that if my other order for the shellfood allergic person was a particular roll (which is what she wanted at first) it is fried in same oil with all other seafood options and advised tuna roll is best to be safe. Kudos to the employee for looking out and saying that.

The other person had no major issue with the spicy tuna which i tasted and it was not the best. Nothing wawing. The Dynamite roll had no taste at all. Not even the cream cheese was tasted. Then the taste of the oil on the outside of the roll made it worse for me. This was my first time trying after being told their rolls are good but it will be my last for sure. $85 Dynamite...

While looking for doubles in curepe on a new years eve...i saw the sign and decided to give them a try (i know...doubles to sushi...lol)...parked across the road (be careful, curepe main road very busy)...had to wait a bit because of how much orders they had...ordered the bento box which is a taste of everything but works as a decent balanced meal...must admit i was pleasantly surprised by how well everything tasted...the prices were very reasonable...the only problems is that (1) they dont take linx or visa or else i would have ordered more and (2) because of how long it took to get my meal, the potstickers and the tempura were cold...would recommend you order before hand through the "Skip D Line" App so that when you get there its ready...would definitely be back to order instead of going to other...

The good: The sushi itself is decent. No issues there. The accompanying sides and appetizers are also good. The bad: Poor customer relation skills. The cashier/ counter attendant always seems annoyed at every polite inquiry. Not a single whiff of an apologetic air with that one, for anything. Atmosphere? Well it's a grab and go sushi spot so there's basically just enough room for you to enter, pay and leave. It isn't a dining establishment so don't expect otherwise. It's located on the southern main road in Curepe and shares a building with other food establishments so there's about 5 parking spots shared among 3...
