My experience in this restaurant was beyond delightful. It was my mothers birthday and we arrived around a hour before opening time. Usually, if a place is closed they don't let you in until it opens but the staff of this restaurant were beyond kind and let us in. They served us small appetizers, drinks, and were exceptionally kind throughout our meal. The meal itself, is beyond delicious. As a beginning entrée, I ordered a brik which is a traditional Tunisian dish that consists of vegetables and tuna (and sometimes an egg) folded into a triangle into thin pastry sheet that is then fried. We ordered fish (which is something you must try if you visit Tunisia!) as the main dish after. The fish was cooked to its finest and served with a slice of lemon, some vegetables and cooked potatoes on the side. Once finished with the fish, we ordered a warm cup of green tea. I was beyond pleased with the staff of the restaurant and how kind and hardworking they were. They constantly wore a smile making the environment positive. If you're coming for the view, I would highly recommend going upstairs and snagging a table near the window which we were lucky enough to do! The view of the restaurant looks over the beautiful city of Sidi Bou Said and the ocean. The restaurant itself is designed in an old-fashioned Tunisian traditional style. When walking up the stairs you will find a wall of photos signed by famous people (of all nationalities) that have visited this restaurant. I highly recommend this restaurant for anybody- couples, families, or even solo! It is definitely worth the money and it gives you a chance to tour the beautiful city of...
Read moreVery nice restaurant with a great view over the ocean. Customers are classy, there is not any bed smell or rubish ppl. The waiters speak good english and excellent frensh. Yet, the food is a little bit expensive. You should come here on a date night, or when being full is not obligatory. The dishes they serve are great but has a little quantity, which is very normal because the restaurant serves "Gastro" style of food. I will come backagain with my wife. TIP: come here one hour before sunset. It will be better to book before coming so that you get a window seat. TIP 2: for the desert, i recommend xhocolot fondu (picture attached) Why 4 stars not 5 stars? It takes them too long to bring you the dish, but that s not a problem because you are coming 1 hour before sunset on date...
Read moreAte here twice. First night was excellent. Food was amazing and staff friendly. We left a good tip and said we would come back. Second night much less so welcoming. We were placed in the back room, ignored for a large part of the evening, served in an unfriendly manner and not such a great experience. When the bill came, we still tipped, but less than the night before as service not so good. The waiter actually sai “wow” and had a sulk. Like he had expected the same for such bad service?! He couldn’t even smile, once. Needless to say, we found somewhere else to eat after that! Great for one night as they go all out to impress, but don’t bother with a repeat visit as they don’t...
