😀👍 If you are like us a lover of authentic Turkish meat, mezze and more, please allow me to share with you the awesome place, where you can find us most Fridays for dinner: The “Günaydın” branch within the area of our Swissotel! 🍽🇹🇷😋 It’s a cute, cosy and casual location with private parking, separate smoking / non-smoking area and a partly open kitchen. 🏡🚙🔥 In summer they can remove a big part of the roof, so you can sit open air - and if you are lucky and get a table at the rear windows, you will even have a nice view over the Bosphorus until the beautifully illuminated first bridge. ☀️🏙🌉🤩 The various mezze, Lahmacun, pide or other bread specialities, vegetables, salads, kebabs, steaks, seasonal fruits and typical Turkish desserts like Katme or Künefe are very fresh, tasty, of high quality and perfectly prepared or even live presented at the table. 🥩🥗🧆🥖🧁 All the excellent food is certainly best accompanied by delicious Turkish Ayran, beer, wine, tea or coffee. 🥛🍻🍷☕️ And - most important - the staff is wonderful! 😍😍😍 The service is extremely kind, attentive and fast - after a few visits they remembered us, knew our favourite table as well as our preferred dishes and drinks - and additionally they always please us with some extras or surprises, so we really feel like visiting dear friends… 👍👍👍👍 Therefore besides great manager MUSTAFA BEY special thanks to our dear friend SEFA BEY, who is great and always caring perfectly for us! 👏🥰👏🥰 Thanks as well to Ali Bey, Ilhan Bey, Vedat Bey, Ayhan Bey, Kenan Bey, Sedat Bey, Nuh Bey, Muhammet Bey, Burak Bey and the entire amazing team of the last year - looking very much forward to our next visit!...
Read moreGünaydın Kebap is among the best kebab restaurants you'll find in Turkey. Therefore, if you are visiting Swissotel, I highly recommend having dinner here at least once.
If you want to eat kebab in Turkey, you need to consider three important points. First, most kebabs are made with lamb. Unlike in some Arab countries, you won't encounter a strong lamb smell. Turks are very particular about this. Secondly, about 30% of the fat used in kebabs is tail fat. This fat can sometimes be heavy, but in very good kebab restaurants, you won't even notice the taste. The third important point is that the spices used in kebabs are much less compared to other Eastern cuisines, allowing you to taste the meat as much as possible. While spices are an important ingredient in Turkish cuisine, they should not overshadow the flavor of the meat.
You can experience all the points mentioned above at Günaydın Kebap.
Günaydın is also famous for its mezes.
My recommendations: Famous Gavurdağı Salad, Spicy Yogurt, Muhammara, Roasted Eggplant, Stuffed Meatballs, Lahmacun, all Kebabs
Prices: A family of four with a bottle of wine will...
Read moreI had my dinner in this restaurant as I was living in the Swissotel . The food was okay but what I found unacceptable was the outright cheating they do to the tourists . I was charged almost 30% extra for my food and when I enquired why I was charged extra for dishes I haven't ordered the waiter had the audacity to tell me those were the charges for the tissue and water (not bottled ) that I did not order . They also charged me for 6 starters when I had ordered only 4 . So if you go there please ensure you ask them about the charges as its not mentioned in their menu and and specifically tell them you wont pay for anything other than what...
