Until 1940, the field on which there was the gas tank of gas house and a small Ranch Casino niear Dolmabahce and a portion of a vegetable garden took place as "Park No. 2" on the plan drafted by H. Prost. However, the arrangement of the park could not be realized for many years. In 1966, the Mayor Hasim Iscan started the preliminary works. In the upper part of the Kadirgalar Valley rising from Dolmabahce to Harbiye, park was founded in a place that was partly wooded and has an area of about 4-5 hectares of surface area. In the park, which was completed in a very short time, there are gradual seating squares, walking paths, children playgrounds, bike trails, gradual pools built with rocks. During the period of Mayor Nurettin Sozen in 1993, it was opened to the public with the name of "Macka Democracy Park". Park has four entrance gates at the north, south, east and west.
