I retuned here after trying the food a around year ago. I really liked the food when I first visited but felt that the service needed some improvement. Today, I am rating the restaurant down to one star because the service has gotten even worse. Although the restaurant was not busy (it’s a weekday) and we were only three diners, the server forgot to punch in our main dishes so we ended up having appetizers for dinner. No apologies offered. The server also forgot to bring us our soup and when we reminded him he brought it at the end of the meal.
I found it also strange that when I called to book the hostess told me that there’s a dress code, when I asked her what it was she said no Burqa (islamic face cover). Last I’ve checked this is a free country so this sort of discriminatory dress code should not be allowed or tolerated.
Below is my previous review from around a year ago, back then I rated it 4 stars:
The food here is delicious. For appetizers we ordered the sirali breeze which was very delicious especially the potato chips and the fried peppers. Lahmacun and boiled kebbe are delicious too. Hummus was good. For mains we had 1. rolled adana, I personally didn’t like it but others did. 2. shashlik, tender and delicious meat on top of a grilled aubergine.
The service however was not up to the expected standard. Even though my reservation was for the smoking area the hostess tried to offer a table at the non-smoking area and didn’t seem too pleased when I asked to stick to my original preference. One of the severs spilled ayran on the floor before serving it to us and took a very long time before cleaning it so I had to step over it to get...
Read moreTo be honest, I’ve always rated this spot as the best kebab you can possibly find but that ended yesterday for me. Yes, the food is very good don’t get me wrong but the service is just as important and yesterday showed us why. We came as a party of 3, 2 adults and a baby, we were placed in a part where people started smoking, I was seriously baffled. When I said something about this they told us this is the smoking area, why would you let us sit here when we’re with a 1 year old baby? Then there is the waiters, on every occasion I came here they just try to push certain dishes that we should take while we want to eat something completely different, one time a friend got mad cause the waiter insisted to eat something he doesn’t want to eat.
I used to recommend this spot to friends and family who visited Istanbul.
I won’t be...

Our driver called the restaurant to make a reservation for us and they said we have an availability, you can come ( it means no need for reservation). When we came with my old mother, they said it’s full we can’t let you in !!! While there were many empty tables. I said our driver called you and you said there is an available table she said sorry!!! What makes me really frustrated is when we went out waiting for the driver to come, my mom asked for a chair to sit while waiting, they brought her a chair outside the restaurant, they didn’t invite her to set inside. When we told the situation to the driver and he went back to ask them for the reason they said because the old woman is covering her face !!! Such a shameful situation...
