BigChefs - Anadolu Hisarı — Restaurant in Beykoz

Big Chefs' menu is a little better than other bistro franchises. But I always find them more sloppy in terms of service. And of course they are overpriced for the quality they have, just like others.

What special about this location is it's view. Very big terrace just by the Bosphorus, with a lovely view of Bebek area. Wonderful!!!

But it's also one of the most popular (natural with such a view), and you'll barely get to sit by the Bosphorus anyway. I've been there 30+ times and sit by the water just once. And I'm sure I'm turned down at door at least 50 times because they have no tables to offer (I live very close).

If you are sitting on 5th row, you won't get to see that view anyway. So you'll just end up with busy, sloppy and sometimes even rude service. Food is ok, don't taste great, it's just expensive fast food. But at least they have a large selection in menu.

So if they sit you in a good table with a view don't miss it. But if all good tables are taken just skip this place and go one of the better restaurants by the river...

This restaurant is at a prime location on the Bosphorus. I suggest picking a table at the sea side around 19:30 just before the sunset. I loved the salmon dish and the bread that came with it. The garden salad was also tasty. The mushroom pizza was cooked to perfection and had a thin crust. The chicken schnitzel was also moist at the center and tasted great. Beer was served in tall frozen glasses I do recommend Tuborg Amber. Mojitos are also prepared nicely and go well on a hot summer day. This is a great place to enjoy a nice dinner with friends. The sea view is just fantastic and breathtaking. The location is comfortable and easy to reach, even though the nearby parkings might be occupied. However , the food I ate there was such a disappointment! The chicken burger was a complete disaster: 2 average chicken burgers in dry not tasty buns. No sauce, no salad, waste of money. I was also surprised buy their San Sebastian cheesecake, it was just a name, not delicious at all. At the same time i loved their fried dumplings (mantı). The service was good. Even they offered us to wait inside a bit, because all three tables outside were occupied. I really appreciate that, they could refuse us instead.
