I recently visited Ghalia Lounge in Istanbul Bosphorus and I must say, it was an amazing experience. From the moment I walked in, I was captivated by the fantastic atmosphere. The view from the lounge was breathtaking, and the sitting area outside was the perfect spot to relax and enjoy the surroundings.
The food at Ghalia Lounge was top-notch. Each dish was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. I particularly enjoyed the variety of flavors and spices used in the dishes, which really elevated the dining experience.
However, I do have to mention that the service could be improved. While the staff was friendly, I also noticed that the servers at Ghalia Lounge sometimes seemed to ignore customers when they were trying to get their attention. There were a few instances where I had to call out multiple times before a server would come over to assist. Additionally, I found it off-putting that some servers directly asked for tips, which made the dining experience feel a bit uncomfortable.
While the overall service was friendly, these instances of inattentiveness and requests for tips were a downside to an otherwise pleasant experience. I hope that Ghalia Lounge can address these issues to ensure that all customers feel welcomed and valued during their visit.
Overall, my visit to Ghalia Lounge was a memorable one. The stunning views, delicious food, and relaxing atmosphere made it a great place to unwind and enjoy a meal. I would definitely recommend this lounge to anyone looking for a unique dining experience in Istanbul.
In addition, I must mention that the prices at Ghalia Lounge are on the higher side. While the quality of the food and the ambiance of the lounge are certainly worth it, it is important to be aware that dining here may require a higher budget compared to other restaurants in the area.
Despite the higher prices, I still believe that the overall experience at Ghalia Lounge is worth it. The stunning views, delicious food, and unique atmosphere make it a special place to dine in Istanbul. Just be prepared to spend a bit more for...
Read moreI have visited many restaurants, and this was my second time trying this particular one.
Unfortunately, the same issues I experienced a year ago are still present. As soon as you enter the restaurant, there is an unpleasant odor. When you sit at the table, you immediately notice a bad smell coming from the plates and cups. I had to ask them to replace them as soon as I sat down.
The food is both overpriced and overrated. During our visit, a seagull landed on our table and stood on the food right after it was served. When I asked for the food to be replaced, they took it away but never brought anything back, and we were still charged for it.
Another incident occurred when I asked the waiter for the bill. Although I was standing right next to him, he took the receipt to the table instead. When I followed him there, he began questioning me in front of other guests, asking, "What's the problem? Why are you not smiling? Did I do something wrong?" Which was both unprofessional and embarrassing.
Additionally, during my first visit, the staff were openly begging for tips. When we didn't leave one (because the service was bad) they began speaking in Turkish in front of us in a manner that felt inappropriate and uncomfortable. This time, despite trying to communicate clearly in simple English, they still did not understand!
Overall, I do not recommend this restaurant. It is overrated, and there are many other nearby places with similar views that may offer better service and food. I haven’t tried them yet, but based on my experience here, I would suggest not wasting your time or money on this...
