After a day of exploring Istiklal Street, we were on the hunt for a place to enjoy a satisfying lunch and some relaxation. It’s no secret that many spots in the area leave much to be desired in terms of food quality and reviews. Thankfully, we stumbled upon this hidden gem on Google and decided to take a chance.
Finding the place was a bit of an adventure in itself. We followed the guidance of an old gentleman manning a kofte cart who directed us to an alley behind him and instructed us to head upstairs. Admittedly, it felt a bit eerie – an old building with numerous flights of stairs. We ascended about five floors, and there was just a small sign to reassure us we were on the right track. But let me tell you, it was worth every step and more. The restaurant itself is utterly charming, providing a welcome escape from the bustling crowds, yet still offering a view of the street and its vibrant activity through the window.
We opted for the famous koftas and menti, and they absolutely lived up to their reputation. Prices were reasonable as well. Just a small heads up: the prices listed on the menu are per kofta, while the accompanying picture may show a plate of 8 koftas, which could lead to a misunderstanding.
In conclusion, if you’re in search of excellent food and a serene break from the hustle and bustle, I highly recommend giving this...

It’s a bit tricky to find the entrance; it’s located at the entrance of a club/bar, which you have to partially pass through to reach a bright staircase. This leads you to the 5th floor and to the restaurant. Don’t get confused by the floors in between.
When we arrived upstairs, we were warmly welcomed by the family that has been running the restaurant for generations. It has a living-room-like atmosphere, making you feel very comfortable.
The food arrived quickly, was very delicious, and was served with love (as you can see in the pictures). We enjoyed it on several levels (5, to be precise 🏙️). This is a hidden gem.
We were very happy to be guests and will...
