We came to this restaurant on the recommendation of friends, and overall the experience was very good. The food was excellent – really delicious, and we would definitely recommend it for that. The service was decent as well.
The only downside was a small but frustrating detail: we ordered a salad that, according to the menu picture, included pomegranate kernels. When the salad arrived, it had none. We asked about it and were told that it’s not pomegranate season. The problem is, we were in Istanbul right in the middle of pomegranate season, with fresh pomegranates everywhere. It wasn’t a big deal in itself, but since it was our last day in Istanbul, it felt disappointing to be given an excuse that just wasn’t true.

Read moreFiccin is a nice neighbourhood meyhane which is also suitable and welcoming for non-drinkers. Due to it was a Sunday and summer, the menu was more limited, didn’t have daily specials as they usually have. We shared mixed meze and vegetable platters as and also ordered an octopus sallad as starter. As main dish, we ordered istavrit - horse mackerel fish, ficcin-beef pie and Circassian gozleme with spinach and cheese. Out of those, I especially liked the fish, beef pie and meze platter. For the dessert, we went with walnut pastry and kadayif with muhallebi, the walnut pastry reminded me my childhood pastries made at home. The owner was very hospitable, made us a recommendations and have nice conversation. I can definitely recommend if you look for a non-touristy spot to taste some typical dishes from Turkish...
Read moreOur dining experience at Ficcin in Istanbul was simply exquisite. From the delectable dishes to the inviting atmosphere and the exceptional kindness of the members of the staff, a black hair gentleman, unfortunately I don’t known his name, it was undoubtedly one of the highlights of our trip. Despite being located in a central, touristy area, Ficcin exceeded our expectations. The restaurant is nestled on a charming, well-lit private street. Even though we arrived quite late, we were graciously accommodated, and the service was impeccable. Every dish, from the salad to the fish and casserole, was delicious with well-balanced flavors. The honest pricing and the genuine warmth of the staff truly won us over. The ambiance, music, and cleanliness of the establishment were all top-notch. A solid 5-star experience....
