Pera Museum in Istanbul is an extraordinary destination that art enthusiasts should not miss! The current exhibition, showcasing the works of Dora Maurer, Vera Molnar, and Gizella Rákóczy, is a captivating journey into the intersection of art, mathematics, and randomness. The exhibition, titled "Calculations and Coincidences," masterfully combines precise calculations with the unexpected beauty of chance, offering a fresh and thought-provoking perspective on the creative process.

Dora Maurer’s works are a highlight, with her innovative use of shapes, lines, and transformations. Each piece feels like a puzzle that invites you to explore the delicate balance between order and chaos. Vera Molnar’s digital art, with its mesmerizing patterns and subtle variations, reflects her pioneering role in computer-generated art. Her ability to turn mathematical algorithms into visual poetry is truly remarkable. Gizella Rákóczy’s artworks add another layer of complexity, blending traditional techniques with modern themes, making you reflect on the deeper connections between structure and spontaneity.

The museum itself is beautifully curated, with spacious galleries that allow each artwork to breathe and speak to the viewer. Informative displays and thoughtful exhibition design enhance the experience, providing insights into the artists’ processes and inspirations. The staff is knowledgeable and eager to help, making the visit even more enjoyable.

Overall, Pera Museum offers an inspiring and immersive experience that brilliantly showcases the delicate dance between precision and unpredictability in contemporary art. It’s a must-visit for anyone interested in the crossroads of art, science, and...

Bristol Oteli 1980’li yıllarda yeni otellerle rekabet edemez hale gelir.

We visited at the opening in the morning and we had the place to ourselves.

Pera Museum, Galata

Overall experience: 9/10

Spotless bathrooms. No crowds. Excellent audio guides. Focus on Osman Hamdi Bey (Orientalist artist).

If you enjoy art, take out 40minutes of your day to pass by Pera Museum. You walk in, you are greeted by a tiny little reception and pay TL25 (which is about $2). If you have your ID, you can give it to them as a deposit and you can borrow an English audio guide.

Tip: bring headphones from home (regular type, not apple) so you can plug them into your audio guide. It’s easier than lifting the guide up to your ear.

The 5th, 4th & 3rd floors are temporary exhibitions. These depend on your luck. Since they keep changing, it really depends what time of year you visit.

The 2nd & 1st floors are permanent exhibitions focusing on 18th/19th century Orientalist paintings. This is where I enjoyed myself the most. Especially the exhibition on Osman Hamdi Bey. They call his painting “The Tortoise Trainer” the Mona Lisa of Turkey.
