My recent experience was atrocious and I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a pleasant dining experience.
The problems began when the water taxi for the restaurant failed to arrive at the agreed time (despite having a confirmed booking) and after two separate calls to the concierge we were still waiting to be collected for over forty minutes. Ultimately the water taxi serving the other restaurant on the island took pity and took us to the restaurant.
Despite the establishment being empty we were then seated at a table on some gravel and the size of table did not comfortably accommodate the five adults that were booked in our party.
The waiter lacked courtesy and was appallingly slow as he appeared more interested in his phone rather than serving our group, despite the fact that there was only one other party at the restaurant.
As we were only having a light dinner, we asked for the same menu that had been offered to the party seated nearby (it was a better selection), rather than the one we had been given, we then had to wait a further twenty minutes for the waiter to respond to our request.
After spending nearly two hours waiting to be transferred to the restaurant and then for the unresponsive waiter to take our order, we decided to leave.
Giving a one star review felt generous considering our experience.
Thank you for your response - the booking was in the name of my wife (Debbie Lodge) and if you cross check your bookings you will note that this was in fact...
Read moreAtmosphere is pleasant, tucked at the top of Sovalye Island. The food was mediocre, and everything was not warm. I’ve been on holiday in Turkey now for 20 days and had high expectations for this restaurant provided the pricing. We made a reservation for our party of 5 and were never notified that there are nearly 100 steep steps to reach the establishment with nearly NO lighting. One in our party was an elderly person and it would have been nice to have this mentioned when we made the reservation. What would have been done if someone in our party was handicap? Now the worse thing was the service…in all the places I’ve dined in throughout this trip in several of the best cities in this country, this was the worse service by far. We waited for 20 minutes alone just for menus. We had our infant with us and requested just a piece of bread until the food arrived. Something this simple took an additional 15 minutes. Although I am American, my husband and in laws are Turkish and we received noticeable differential treatment than all of the other patrons that were American or British. There are plenty of wonderful establishments in this area and I highly recommend you try any other of them before going out of your way...
Read moreVery rude and impolite service — our friend waited for the plate more than 40 minutes. When she asked to cancel it cause she was run out of time, the waiter said okay. But later included the plate in the bill in contrast to what he said before. And threatened to call the police if she does not pay for this. If you want to ruin all your mood — welcome to this restaurant. They did not want to accept their own mistake and decided to cheat. And also one more thing — you can not even leave this restaurant, only by boat. They allow themselves too much to treat their own clients.
P.S. It is my account, not created to write a review lol. We live in a free country with market economy, if the restaurant is rude with clients, they are free to write about it — it is about reputation. Normal restaurant would be sorry for such a situation, and not trying to make the client feel embarrassed. It is your responsibility not to put in risk...
