Normally Charcoal.Palace is a great place to eat and spend some time. However, our mistake was to go on a saturday evening when there was an event being held. We waited 1hrs 20mins for our food order to arrive which was then initially being given to other customers who ordered after us. We did as for another pot of mushy peas and tartare sauce but this perhaps was forgotten with the ongoing orders and sheer amount of people there.
Suggestion. . If such event is on and walk in customers arrive, please consider that these customers may have other plans after eating, it would be helpful if on arrival, we were informed of an 80.minute delay on food, this then gives us the option to eat elsewhere.
Events are good for business but weekends are when others have arrived on holiday or have finished work for the weekend and need some relax time , perhaps events can be midweek when less busy.
Please listen to customer requests about the ' extras they want. You may be busy but this is not an excuse .
We note normally that there is a puffy bread and dip given as part of the meal as a starter, this didn't occur.
Please dont drop your standards because of being busy.. I was very disappointed and embarrassed as we had brought friends as new customers to you...

Pro: It is near the beach but outside the busy main street, a bit of quiet time can be spent here.
Nice and attentive staff.
To consider: The mix grilled and Adana dish ordered weren't the greatest Turkish food, both of them had average taste.
The portions could be bigger, and there wasn't bread or wraps offered with the dishes.
Only British people go in there, I believe because they are best at fish and chips (big portions offered). So not specialized in a typical Turkish cousine.
Overall, if you are looking for something more local with more Turkish food offered, look somewhere else. Total for 2 mains, 1 cocktail and 1 pint of beer was 1699 TL (or £33). Literally around the corner at 'Mehtap Et & Mangal' restaurant is way cheaper...
Read moreLast year, my comments were:
"You will not leave the Charcoal Palace without feeling like you ate a small building. With a massive variety in food and a Becks draught for 60 Lira, this is a pretty solid choice."
While the Becks has gone up slightly, the extra 50p you are paying after taking the exchange rate into account makes no difference to how good it tastes straight off the tap.
Aside from that, the food is definitely still building size, and I'm glad to see that the infinite Carbonara is still on the menu, if you're hungry try that for the challenge.
For myself, I had a burger this time, and the picture below will do the talking for me.
All the staff were very nice, and we'll definitely...
