I’ve just come back from a relaxing stay at the Oykun Hotel in Çalış Beach, Fethiye, and I wanted to share my experience for anyone considering a visit. If you’re after a clean, friendly and affordable base for your holiday, this is a fantastic choice.||Arrival & First Impressions||I arrived very late at night, but the night staff were absolutely lovely – really welcoming and helpful, which made all the difference after a long journey. Check-in was quick and straightforward, and I even stayed up for a pint at the late-night bar before heading to bed. A great start!||Rooms & Comfort||The hotel itself has a slightly old-fashioned, almost colonial style, but it’s very clean and well cared for. The rooms are basic but comfortable, with everything you really need. The bedding is a bit unusual, but perfectly fine, and the air conditioning is great – you can control it yourself, which is a bonus.||All the rooms, including mine, have balconies. Mine overlooked the pool and caught the morning sun – ideal for a peaceful coffee to start the day. There aren’t things like a kettle or fridge included as standard, but you can request them for a small extra charge. I did, and it made a big difference having my own kettle and fridge for milk and cold drinks.||Food & Drink||Breakfast was fairly limited and, if I’m honest, a little disappointing, but it did the job. The hotel doesn’t offer evening meals as part of the stay, but they do serve light meals from the kitchen until 5pm, which is handy if you want a bite around lunchtime or an early dinner.||In the evenings I usually went out to eat – there are loads of nearby restaurants and cafés within walking distance, all reasonably priced and offering a great range of food.||Pool Area & Facilities||The pool is lovely and well looked after. I visited at the end of May into early June, and the hotel was quiet, so there was no mad rush for sunbeds. They do have a policy of removing towels if you reserve a bed for over an hour without using it, which helps keep things fair.||Just a heads-up – the hotel doesn’t provide pool towels, so make sure you pack your own.||Getting Around||I had to travel every other day to another hotel about 20 minutes away, and the staff were always happy to book a taxi for me. Taxis were prompt and reasonably priced – usually just under £10, which is very affordable compared to the UK.||I also used the local dolmuş minibus service, which was brilliant. They come by every few minutes, you just flag one down and hop on. It only costs around £1 per journey and is a fun, budget-friendly way to get around. I also tried the water taxi from the canal area over to Fethiye, which was a lovely, relaxing ride.||Extras & Experiences||One of the highlights of my trip was the Turkish bath at the hotel. It included a sauna, full-body exfoliation (a little intense, but enjoyable), a foam wash and a massage – which was honestly one of the best massages I’ve ever had. It was only about £40, so well worth it.||I also went on a boat trip from Fethiye, which cost just £18 including lunch. It was a full-day trip, running from 10.30am to 5.30pm, and was an absolute highlight – relaxing, scenic, and great value. Just be aware that drinks on board cost extra, and they can add up.||Overall Impressions||The Oykun Hotel is a clean, friendly and well-run place that offers fantastic value for money. It’s not luxurious, but it doesn’t try to be – it’s honest, comfortable, and full of character. The staff are genuinely kind and helpful, and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a laid-back, affordable holiday in the...
Read moreI took private hire from the Airport and I thought it would be just a ride but I arrived in a Limo- Lion's VIP transfer from Dalaman Airport. I had my holiday package with easyJet and so far, I always have a lot to look forward to. Rooms in hotel are super clean. Cleaners come daily and change bedding. Because it's a B&B you must pay for the kettle and fridge if you want to use it in the room.Bathroom is nice and spacious.. .Hotel has very nice, friendly Staff.Canteen is open from 8am- buffet type breakfast. Lunch you can order and have it delivered to your room between 10am and 5pm. They serve delicious food. There are lots of bars, restaurants, food shops around the hotel. If you go locally, just a walk away from the hotel, you can purchase very cheap homemade food. Just across the road from the hotel is a supermarket but there are many shops in the area so you can buy clothes, souvenirs, literally anything. If you need further information, please kindly ask the staff at the hotel to direct you. I saw Lidl's shop in Turkish version located by the beach. Beach is just a walk away and has so many bars, clubs, restaurants to go to.Everything is super cheap. You can take tours to go snorkeling, safari, boat trips to other places for just around £35 per (adult) person. Tours can be booked at the Agency desks and there are many desks by the beach. Beach is clean, sea water is warm. At Oykun hotel, sunbeds are free to use. At the beach you pay for sunbed and lounger-500 Liras for a whole day. (£100=5500 Liras). There are 5 cash points near the hotel as hotel has very good location. During the night, it is quiet and security checks are held regularly at the garden and pool area. Police patrols are present. Wi-fi signal is not the best. When you are at the main area- pools, the signal is excellent . Loungers are new, canteen is in old Western style. Oykun Hotel/ Villa looks very nice and clean. Food is served very quickly. You can sit and eat by the pool. Lots of nice vegetation and flowers are in the garden and the place is bursting with purple , red, pink petals . Weather is very hot-32c every day. Hotel has air-conditioning and TV in the rooms. Program on TV is interesting. Some of it is in Turkish, with English language subtitles. Watched few American interesting movies on TV. Bathroom is specious although I travelled by myself had a nice double bed, lots of space to put my clothes in. Staff are very helpful and considerate. I loved lots of cats wondering around. Everyone in Turkey seems to love cats very much. So I give super star rating for Oykun hotel. I 've got picked up by Limousine hire back to the Airport. Read moreBreakfast and lunch is good, good size portions, great service. When arrived they took our suitcases to our rooms for us. The hotel rooms are clean, has tv and great air con. One block has been renovated and the other block is in process. The pool is clean and big, comes with floatys. Hotel reception are great any problems they'll fix. In My room I had a shower head that was leaking the water out the wrong way and it was replaced and fixed the next morning. You can hire a kettle and fridge. A maid comes very morning and cleans the rooms. The hotel has spas and it's very good. Family's and couples are friendly and very social. There are two bookcases of books that you are allowed to borrow and read. There are two pools and two children pools that are good sizes for the residences. The bar is open til 1am but only serve particular alcoholic drinks but many bars are down the road from The hotel. Bars and restaurants are a 10 minute walk but so many different restaurants and shops for handbags and designer clothes and shoes. They also have a water taxi which is a 20-30 minute journey and it takes you to the main part of Fethiye. We're a family of 8 of all different ages from 15-46. It's a nice family run business getting very popular though. very nice people and environment was great with shops and food and bars. And such a beautiful place.
This is our second time here and this year we was in the other block which was Okay but did come with its problems. they said they had renovated this block but they only updated the furniture and the lights and the other rooms as we are a family of 10, some things were updated in there’s but in others it wasn’t. The air con takes 20 minutes to fully make the room cold as it’s an older version. But it’s clean the staff are so helpful and so quick it’s a great atmosphere. The bar is open till 1am, there’s always someone at reception during the night as well. Your a 10 minute walk from the main strip a lot of holiday shops and replica shops and amazing restaurants who have entertainment and even had the football on, they have kids menu and vegetarian food. There’s an aqua water park down the road from the hotel for kids there’s an arcade for kids down the main strip as well. the water taxis and car taxis are based on the strip as well so it’s easy to travel around. I had a bad reaction to the heat and got a bad case of prickly heat into a heat rash which was across my thighs and my hands up my arms and on my feet there’s a chemist down the road who helped me massively and it was only £4 for tablets and cream. One night we was greeted by a cockroach which is common in hot countries but still scary, we requested a new shower head and it was replaced in two days. The maids work Monday to Saturday and clean your room but they have keys to your rooms so if you are still asleep they can get in. You are able to rent a...
