Recommendation Level: MID for Cantonese food connoisseur & MID to HIGH for someone who want to have an experience of this cuisine in Istanbul as it is the only one over here.
The POSITIVE ❤️ Owner driven restaurant with a great & dedicated team. ❤️ we have been used to go to HongKong so often prior Covid. The place, food, Cantonese lady & staff make us fly to the past & happy feeling moment. ♧ The Service was excellent. ◇ The seating arrange is good. ♡ It has a live & see through Kitchen concept. ♤ Many choices in the menu. ❤️ They have excellent Jasmine Tea. ♡ For foreigners, they speak English, Cantonese for sure Turkish. ♧ When we were there, the place was nearly full. ◇ They havevtoilet facility
The NEGATIVE ● Not all dishes tastes great. Reason for 3 🌟. Few were excellent, few good & few below. The Shrimp dumpling was excellent, the fried rice good, but home made noddle was below. Dimsum can be tricky, if not fresh, wrongly freeze, poorly steam or pan-fried the taste, softness & moisture will get affected. Will highly recommend the owner to relook into the food taste so as to improve. We believe in you & want to come back for a great Cantonese experience. 👍🏼. ■ Reason for 3 🌟 for atmosphere.: may be we were unlucky, on that day, the AC was not working well, room was super hot, we were sweating like crazy & the split don't come uo to our table. Will recommend the owner to relook into. Thanks. ○ Will highly appreciate if the place will complimentary have chilly paste oil as in Chinese cuisine mainly for Dumplings. I know that this is special as Turkish don't eat much hot chilli & not part of Cantonese. But we love this combination. THANKS.
To The OWNER/ STAFFS ♡ Thanks for giving us a Cantonese restaurant in Istanbul. ◇ We will come back. ♤ My constructive feedback & eviews iare neutral & based on our experience. Hope you will take care of the areas where we have recommended for...
Read moreI went to Istanbul for asian food since there aren’t many authentic ones in Turkey, I think this place has pretty decent food but it’s overly pricey for what you get. I do understand that asian ingredients are expensive and their noodles and dim sum are handmade though. Their stir fried noodle, although the noodle was handmade and had good texture, was a little oily and dry and the same time) not enough gravy/sauce for flavour), still a palatable dish but not something I’d come again for. Their dim sum tasted good was the wanton was not authentic in the sense that the skin was more like jiaozi (steamed dumpling) which was thicker than wanton skin, for 4 pieces it costed around 48TL. I think the worse for me was the Hong Kong milk tea which was a whopping 26TL but it tasted nothing like nice milk tea much less Hongkong milk tea. It was a little diluted and lacked flavour.
However, I guess it’s still deserving of a try for those craving asian food! The staff were friendly and accommodating, it’s a small eatery but it felt quite cosy and...
Read moreAfter craving Asian food & reading so many great reviews of this place, I decided to give it a try.
I’m honestly disappointed with the food. Especially it’s pretty pricey. It’s bland, and something was missing in terms of the taste of Cantonese dishes.
I can’t taste the meat in the dim sum. The chicken fried noodles missing a lot of flavours, and the noodles were still stuck together. If you have been to HK or tried many different Cantonese foods in other countries, you’ll understand my opinion. It’s unusual to find flavourless Cantonese food.
Perhaps, it’s hard to find the actual ingredients to make somehow the original taste of Cantonese food in Turkey? Or maybe they hire a new chef? I’m not sure.
And last thing, 26 lira for a glass of Hongkong ice tea is overpriced and nothing special about it.
The good side is the staff are friendly, and the food presentation was also good. Regardless, the taste of the food lacks...
