La Terazza Kusadasi — Restaurant in Kuşadası

I went here with my friends to celebrate my birthday, I have coeliac disease and so we called the restaurant in advance to check if they had gluten free options and to make a reservation if so. Firstly, when we arrived they had not noted our reservation so we were told to wait outside for 10 minutes. Then, we ordered and again specified gluten free, and were told by two waiters that they had gluten free pasta and could make it for me. This was all in Turkish as my friend is fluent so there was no language barrier. After that we waited for at least 1 hour for the food to arrive, and when it did we asked to double check if the pasta was gluten free. Then we were told by this server that it wasn’t, they don’t have gluten free pasta. We are confused, upset and hungry but said ok can we look at the menu to find other gluten free options on the menu. This waiter then informs us that they have 0 gluten free options on their entire menu. So I was told by 3 workers that there were gluten free options, waited 1 hour and 10 minutes for food to arrive and then when it did had to ask to confirm, and lucky I did because eating an entire bowl of regular pasta would make me incredibly sick and potentially hospitalize me. The waitstaff were not apologetic at all, and refused all requests to compensate that could have slightly improved the night. Would never recommend this place to anyone, it is overpriced, has long wait times and bad waitstaff whose lies would have had dangerous consequences. We ate at La Terazza twice during our stay in Kusadasi. One word for here is oustanding. Situated at the marina the setting is beautiful and the atmoshere is high end and romantic. The food is top class and very reasonably priced. First visit was for my birthday when I had the T bone steak. Cooked to perfection as I asked for it to be medium rare. The white and red wine was fabulous. On the second visit 4 of us went. I had the rib eye which was again cooked perfectly. For a starter I had the pork ribs which were so tasty. My other half had the prawn cocktail made with king prawns. She had the thai red curry for her main. It was perfectly spicey with really good quality breast of chicken. The manager and staff were very attentive and nothing was too much trouble. My mother in law wanted sparkling wine and even though it was not normally served by the glass, the manager opened a bottle especially for her.

The bill for 4 of us with 2 starters, 4 mains and a total of 10 glasses of wine came to £126. Very reasonable for the quality of food and wine.

In all both visits were made very special and this was all down to the manager and staff.
