Kaya Grill Restaurant — Restaurant in Pamukkale

We were staying in one of the hotels near this restuarant and searched Tripadvisor for some good places to eat in Denizli. We looked and this place was rated #6 in all of Denizli and was less than a 10 minute walk away. It was a must try for us.

We called ahead to ask if they were open and if they had all the meats we saw in the pictures. They confirmed that they were open and that they had everything available. We were about to head out when they called back and offered to send us a shuttle/ride to take us to the restuarant, they said that if we did not know how to get there they would send one. We kindly declined and headed out. It was a short 8 minute walk to get there.

Before we even stepped inside and were still on the street, we heard live music from the dining room and a man singing while playing an instrument. When we did step inside the restuarant, we were welcomed by a friendly Turkish woman who seated us in a warm section of the restuarant. There was an interesting brick oven near our table that had a turkish tea kettle on top, and provided us lots of warmth from the windy and cold outdoors.

We were then brought a simple large picture menu and a list of prices for all the meats, drinks, etc, that they had. This provided lots of transparency and I assume is for tourists who want to know the prices of things before ordering. We ordered the shish kebaps (lamb kebabs) and the kuzu pirzola (lamb chops). We were given bread, salad, and ezme as a appetizer before the meal. The bread was soft, salad was fresh, and ezme was tasty.

Our main course then arrived with the plates having our meats, a serving of bulgur, smoked eggplant with olives on top, and some veggies. The veggies, eggplant, and bulgur were all very good. The meats were a good portion for one person and were also quite delicious as well. They arrived hot and super tender. We did add some salt ourselves to the meat and it became magnificent.

We enjoyed our meal and asked for the bill. The lady who was serving us this whole time insisted we have a glass of tea as well before leaving. We accepted and had a short conversation with her. She and her husband run the restuarant as a family business and have been for the past 4 years. They decided to open because they felt they could offer visitors and even locals, a great place to eat. We then paid after enjoying our tea and were pleasantly surpised at how low the bill was. We expected to pay more than we did. We then thanked the woman and left. My personal recommendation would be the shish kebaps, but the kuzu pirzola was...

Total agree with the positive reviews ... This is one rare of the few place in Pamukkale that not make hard selling but with true hospitality ... The food is first rate and the price is very reasonable with great service from all the staffs especially the lady owner who will not take any advantages of the customers when she offer any extra meals but rather give them as extra service instead. 🥶식당 사장님, 꼭 보세요!

이 식당 이름 Kaya Grill Restaurant, Harbiye Restaurant DENIZLI, 포장마차(Pojangmacha Korean Restaurant) 세 개가 모두 동일한 곳입니다 패키지 손님들이 밤에 와서 식사하고 노래방 기계틀고 춤추는 걸로 유명한 걸로 알고 있습니다.

라면 380*2=760 TL 김치볶음밥 420 TL 콜라 70 TL 아이란 50 TL 합계 1300 TL 먹었습니다

음식 맛은 나쁘지 않았습니다. 직원도 친절합니다.

그러나, 결제할 때 직원(젊은 터키 남자)이 1310 TL라고 하더군요. 주문내역을 보니 아이란의 가격을 60 TL로 입력했더라구요. 제가 아이란의 가격은 50 TL라고 했더니 “아, 50 TL가 옳다. 미안하다”라고 하더군요. 이때까지만해도 직원의 실수인 줄 알았어요. 그런데 호텔에 와서 확인해 보니 결국 1310 TL를 결제 했네요. 결국 실수가 아니라 사기였습니다. 튀르키예에 와서 이런 사기 경험 여러번 하네요.(이스탄불만 그런 줄 알았는데 카파도키아에서도, 데니즐리에서도 실수를 가장한 사기 경험이 아주 많아요) 겨우 10 TL 더 받으면 뭐가 좋을까요? 그것도 얼마나 친절하게 사기를 치는지… 한국말 섞어가며 세상 친절한 척 사기를 칩니다. 이 사실을 사장님이 꼭 아셨으면 좋겠습니다. 여러분도 영수증 꼼꼼하게 확인 하세요. 분명히 이미 사기 당한 분들도 있을 거라고 생각합니다.

제가 결제할 때 손님은 저희와 다른 한 팀 밖에 없었어요. 전혀 바쁜 상황이 아니었습니다. (사장님도 기억 하실텐데요. 다른 팀에게 여기 식당의 아이란이 오리지날이라고 설명하신 후의 상황입니다) 그리고 제 리뷰를 제대로 읽어 보세요. 직원이 1310이라고 했을 때 제가 1300으로 정정하자, 직원도 인정하고 사과한 상황이었습니다. 그래놓고 바로 1310을 결제한 게 실수입니까?

저는 1310 결제된 것을 숙소에 돌아와서야 확인을 했습니다. 제 의견을 전달 하기 위해 파묵칼레로 다시 갔어야 하는 건가요?

이 식당 덕분에 한국 음식을 맛볼 수 있어서 행복한 시간이었습니다. 그러나 금액을 떠나서 한국인을 상대로 그런 행동을 했다는 게 굉장히 불쾌합니다. 사장님께 좋은 드립니다. 그 젊은 남자 직원을 통해 반드시 확인하시고 짚고...
