Pamukkale is truly a natural landscape that’s worth visiting. Beyond the stunning white terraces and mineral-rich thermal pools, the area also includes the ancient site of Hierapolis and its museum, making it a perfect combination of nature, history, and culture. The entrance fee is around 30 euros, which is reasonable considering everything you get to experience.

When visiting, it’s a good idea to bring your swimsuit, as some of the pools allow for wading, and make sure to have appropriate shoes, since you’re not allowed to wear them in the terraces. The terraces themselves are absolutely beautiful, and the views are breathtaking.

However, I would recommend avoiding August if possible. We went in August, and it was extremely crowded and uncomfortably hot. The massage areas and cafés are available for snacks and drinks, but during peak season there are long lines, so it’s hard to enjoy them properly.

Overall, to fully enjoy Pamukkale—including the terraces, pools, Hierapolis, and museum—you should plan to spend about 3–4 hours there. Despite the crowds in summer, it’s an unforgettable experience and a place I would highly recommend to anyone...

No other place like it in this world. To best enjoy your 40 euros combo ticket (only option in sep 2025)... Start at the top. As soon as you enter from the south gate, there are bathing pools which have cool water - great for the hot afternoon but too cold in the morning. You can't wear any footwear in travertines(white limestone pools/surface) . I wore thick socks. The view is best from the top and you can walk down (about halfway). The full view is best from the gate at the bottom (the town/ city) where you can have a good lunch/meal (you have to exit but can enter back) - instead of eating at the top

There is a nice free parking at the bottom which has great views and even photo opportunities - even a small pool to try the water out. Sure beats the ticket price. The Hierapolis is in ruins (...

Don’t believe everything you see on Instagram. Today I visited the Pamukkale Natural Park; a place I wanted to see for so long. Although it was beautiful, and I had the best time. I definitely wasn’t the only one there, and it wasn’t quite what you see on Instagram 😅 If you want to visit this place, here are some tips to make the most of your visit: • Try come as early as you can (First entry is at 9:00 am and last entry is at 18:00. After 5pm is the best time/ Times vary due to seasons). • Go for a swim at the Cleopatra’s Ancient Pool (entrance cost is 150 Turkish Lira (around £7). • The pools have a lot of sediment on the bottom, and it can be quite dangerous and slippery to walk on, so be extra careful if you don’t want to end up in the water. • Make this a day trip, and book a hotel at a nearby town such as Izmir, Fethiy or Antalya. • OR make this an overnight stay and spend an evening during sunset from the ancient theatre • Use the southwest walking way for entry and hike up barefoot Save this post for when your planning your trip to Turkey 🇹🇷 #AnastazjaInTurkey
