Gunaydin — Restaurant in Sarıyer

Truly disappointing experience. I believe there was an honest misunderstanding when ordering, but when they brought out the wrong dish, rather than fix the problem they first tried to convince us to take the other order. They then said they ran out of burger buns (which was my original order), which turned out to be false as the kitchen said they had them. The kitchen then proceeded to stuff the meat into the bun without properly heating up the burger, and brought it back out to our table within less than a minute.

There was also an 18% charge on the bill on top of the service fee and cover fee, which we only noticed after paying. I really would not recommend visiting. Their fast food branch on the upper floor serves better food for much...

I remember this Gunaydin restaurant when it was a high quality, good service and good food operation. At the time it was indoors. Now it is huge and includes outdoors and I tried it for old times sake. It was a big mistake as it has gone down considerably on all measures.

food is very average. service is ok, and waiters lack proper decorum and style. Instead they keep banging old plates and dishes ruining the atmosphere. our table was actually sticky and not clean. It was obvious that hygiene is no longer important and this is a big surprise for any major restaurant in Turkey.

I was walking in istinye park and noticed that Gunaydin restaurant was closed and in part of its place a butcher is opened. The butcher had a display of a cooked lamb shoulder and beef short ribs.

Upon asking I found that the restaurant changed the location to the other corner so I went in and asked for the lamb shoulder along with other stuff including spicy lahmacun (excellent) icli kofte (oily but possibly the best I have had) and some salad.

All I can say is that the lamb shoulder was something out of this world, really delicious. Could easily fill two people especially if you add some little stuff here and there. And in terms of price, at current exchange rates it was around 30€ which was...
