But, for me, we came to Kale Restauran via a Turkish friend who, when he knew we were going to be in Istanbul, just sent a photo and said, "This is where you will have your Sunday brunch. It is the most authentic classic Turkish breakfast you can have." And he was right. It was totally delightful. Upon being seated, a mezze of olives, bread, grilled cheese, veggies comes automatically. And then, you order an egg or other dish to complement this. I ordered the pastrami. I had a small salad (for 200 lira!) which was flavourless except completely drenched in oil to the point where I felt nauseous.
The 'lemonade' is so sugary I couldn't finish it. I'm ordinarily fine with sweet drinks, but you could literally boil this into a syrup. Maybe it was to mask the very little actual lemon in it?
