Explorer Restaurant at The Kampala Serena is one place I love going back to, time and again. It’s a rare combination of amazingly grounded cuisine, precise service, and an atmosphere that feels both refined and genuinely welcoming.

The cocktails are quite good—creatively crafted by their undoubtedly experienced Bar Man, balanced, and increasingly memorable as the evening unfolds. The atmosphere is legit: polished without feeling pretentious, with a vibe that invites thoughtful conversation as well as relaxed dining.

The restaurant team is awesome, and I’d like to single out Gloria. Her charming smile is amazing, and she brings a level of warmth and intention to every interaction. Gloria is very welcoming and attentively ensures guests feel both seen and valued. When she’s on duty, I feel well covered and assured that my dining experience will be seamless. Gloria embodies professionalism and candor in equal measure. Her genuine approach elevates the entire visit, and she deserves major recognition for her impact. The food was delicious. There is a cool breeze on the outer lawns of Explorer from the surrounding environs. The sound of water dropping onto the tiny rocks navigating it's way around the water pool is soothing.
