Wanted to love but could not. Taking guests around town and reserved a table well in advance because this was to be a highlight of the day. Our reservation was honoured properly but that's the end of the positivity.
We were seated immediately but then nothing. Others were seated and within minutes had a waiter flipping the plates over and taking drinks. A table that arrived after us got their first food dish before we even spoke to anyone.
We had to flag down a waiter who seemed utterly confused and we attempted to order drinks. Nothing arrived. Walked to the hostess and asked for a menu because the wifi and qr code was slow. Never received anything. She stayed playing on her phone the whole time.
Flagged down another waiter, attempted to order food and drink because it had been a while now. He didn't write anything down. We got 3 appetizers and 5 entrees. 2 entrees were wrong. 1 entree arrived after everyone else had eaten so it wasn't even needed and we had to flag down a waiter to remind him that 1 of the guests didn't have an entree in front of them.
We never recieved 2 of the drinks we ordered. The 2 bottles of water arrived with the last entree, after an hour of service with no water. A complete waste.
Was honestly the worst dining experience we ever had in the UAE. The food itself was mid. 2 plates, the wrong orders, were inedible. The haloumi flatbread was delicious and arrived quickly. The shish tawook grill was also good, but arrived an hour late and so was barely eaten. The others weren't bad but not good.
The location is amazing minus the abundance of house flies. The gulf, boardwalk, and breeze are hard to beat. We had high expectations, and didn't even receive food court level service. A genuine...
Read moreI can’t review the food as we didn’t get that far. I went to the restaurant last night with my parents, and we had a drink outside on the lovely terrace where the service was excellent and we received a really nice welcome. We were the only people outside. We then went inside to eat. My mum doesn’t have a massive appetite due to some unfortunate health issues. We decided to get two of the set menus and share them between the three of us. When we ordered we were told that this wouldn’t be possible. We asked why and were told that the manager would come and speak to us. Another gentleman came over and said he wouldn’t allow us to order two meals either. So we said we would pay for the drinks and leave. He then said he would ask his manager (we thought he was the manager). We said it was fine and we just wanted the bill for the drinks. He then, without speaking to anyone else, said that we could now order two meals. By that point we were fed up so elected to go elsewhere. The restaurant was 30% full at the most. The setting is lovely and the interior is really attractive. I’ve also heard that the food is very nice. I just can’t understand why restaurants seem to think they can dictate what their customers can and can’t do. It’s a shame as I have just moved to the area so could have been a regular customer for them if I’d had a good experience. We went to black tap instead who couldn’t have been more...

Reasons why: Service has shockingly dropped to a very poor standard, repeatedly having to ask on the basics such as getting a glass, a knife, a napkin took multiple requests and being ignored.
Drinks not being served with food, in fact we repeatedly asked where they were and they came after main meal had been eaten. What is the point?
Food being cold, we ordered two mixed grills, and both were cold. Why?
Staff generally with attitude, and lacking basic customer service, to the point they looked unhappy and disinterested.
The most embarrassing part was we had Guests from the U.K who experienced all of this. I get better service, food and attitude from McDonalds.
Most businesses focus on repeat customers, word of mouth reviews, and recommendations , and sadly, Beirut Sur Mer has dropped this focus on the customer for whatever reasons.
Won't recommend it to anyone and won't be going there again. It was such shocking drop in standards.
--‐‐‐------------- Superb Lebanese food in Mamsha.
The service was faultless and fantastic as always.
The general location of the resturant in Mamsha with both indoor and outdoor seating is great, and the ambience is superb.
Overall a resturant you are likely to be going back to...
