When it comes to Caribbean food, nobody does it better, across the entire UAE, than Ting Irie.
Curiously in a country full of expats there were hardly any places that served this amazing and highly flavourful cuisine, that was until Ting Irie finally opened in Dubai and after a bit in Abu Dhabi.
So we have our very own Ting Irie and that too Pon Di Beach Man, in a location that couldn't be better, smack on the beach on Saadiyat Island.
It's a spectacular location with loads of outdoor seating, bright and vibrant interiors done up in the traditional Jamaica style with cheerful staff who are always smiling.
The menu is compact but covers all the classics and also has some Arabic fusion items as well.
It's fully licenced, so there is a great variety of drinks on offer as well.
We start off with the signature Caribbean beef Patties cooked to perfection with a mild and a hot dip on the side, simply amazing.
We make our way through the starters the warm lobster rolls are simply divine and so are the chicken wings in four types of marinades
In the mains they hit it out of the park with their Oxtail & Beans the meat just melts if you stare at it and the gravy is bursting with flavour.
The runner-up is the Curry Goat, another perfect dish, took us back to the time we lived in the USVI.
The Jerk Chicken is another masterpiece and for good measures they insisted we try the OG Fried Chicken which has the most unbelievable crunch to it.
We tried the seafood Stew which was rich and hearty and for good measures we did the veg stew as well, the gravy will blow your mind.
After all this, there was absolutely no space for dessert, so that's for another day.
The food is simply stunning, huge portions, awesome taste perfectly spiced and stunning presentations.
When we were over, there was a fantastic breeze blowing which added to the ambiance, making us feel like we were in the Caribbean.
It's one of those places that's absolute perfect in all respect, and it's the whole package that makes it so much more appealing.
Great location, superb food, exceptional service and loads of parking, what more could one want.
Keep up the great work, Kevin and...
Read moreI visited Ting Irie Mamsha recently and while the food and atmosphere were as vibrant and flavorful as expected, the experience was soured by what can only be described as an unnecessary and frustrating ordeal over a simple discount.
I had intended to use the 25% off Careem offer—a legitimate and widely promoted discount. However, what followed felt more like a negotiation than a casual dinner. I was questioned by multiple waitstaff, and even approached by a manager, all just to validate and apply the discount. What should have been a quick adjustment to the bill turned into a 10–15 minute delay, with back-and-forth discussions and visible confusion on their end.
Here’s the issue: as a paying guest, I should not be doing accounting at the table. It is not my responsibility to predict when to mention a discount or guess how their billing system works. Whether I say it at the start or end of the meal, the discount should be honored with professionalism and ease.
To make matters worse, it was implied that the pricing or availability of the discount might change just because it wasn’t mentioned earlier—which was never communicated beforehand. That's not transparency; that's chaos.
Restaurants of this caliber should be able to handle discounts smoothly without making their patrons feel like they're trying to pull a fast one. I came for dinner, not a debate. If you’re going to promote offers through apps like Careem, ensure your team is trained and your process is clear.
Great food. Great vibe. But the checkout experience left a bad taste—and that's the last thing you want a guest to leave with.

Read moreFinally tried this place after hearing about it for a while now. Let me start with the positives this location is awesome because it's really close to the beach and the view is amazing. The customer service and music is on point for sure. I had the fresh coconut for my drink and wow wow it was so delish. I would absolutely recommend the fresh coconut as a drink. I had the passion fruit wings as my appetizer no lie was very surprised by how good it tasted. But I'm glad I stepped out the box and tried it. Well worth the try. For my entree I had the curry shrimp and I have to say being Caribbean I wasn't impressed by the taste or flavor of the curry at all. And just a heads up it does have a kick to it. My curry shrimp came with white rice and it was topped with some grated coconut, but it didn't add any flavor to the rice. 2 of the people sitting at the table with me had the oxtails with rice and beans and they absolutely enjoyed it. Another person at my table had the curry goat and that person said it was super spicy and no flavor. For dessert I had the granny pudding and that's an absolute no, it had no flavor and it was chewy and hard at the same time. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone nor would I go back...
