Mandarin Oak — Restaurant in Abu Dhabi

This is coming from someone who relishes Chinese food and with a history of eating out Indo-Chinese/Asian for more than 25+ years. I review eating joints, Indo-Chinese/Asian being my speciality.

Mandarin Oak truly deserves a shout-out!

These guys have far the best packaging I have found in the UAE in my experience. The care they ensure in the presentation for their delivery orders surpasses anything I have seen. The food box is packed inside a paper container box with a handy description on how to use chopsticks, taped and secured from all ends to ensure no spillage, and the paper bag carrying this has a unique red tape with their branding to ensure no tampering is done while it's been delivered. All together an amazing experience.

About the food, again, fantastic taste with the right blend of spices and with the right balance of sauces. I have tried their chilly chicken and vegetable noodles a few times and had their Mandarin box 🍱 for myself and my family on many occasions.

Parting advice - It would be great to see some new options on their menu or create your own Mandarin box to be picked up by the customer as they place an order.

I really love the food of this restaurant, but this this time I really lost my appetite because of poor service! I’ve waited for more than 1 hour to my order, they didn’t even called me to inform that my food will be delayed, they just keep adjusting the time! Ok I will understand if they have some misunderstanding with the delivery driver but atleast they should’ve called and inform me that this thing happened so your order will be VERY LATE!!! But NO! If I haven’t call the restaurant I will not come to know that there is some problem! I ordered 1:41am I came from work, tired and very hungry, it’s past 3am my food still not came, I tried to cancel it because I already lose my appetite, I even told th em that I don’t want the food just refund my money but still they send the food to another driver!! I ordered from their Khalifa City branch, which is unavailable on map, through Talabat. So I will post my review here instead. Overall, the food was nice, arrived all hot and safe. I got Dumpling Meals For 3 combo menu.

I like kurkure chicken momos the most, crunchy and yummy.

Chicken hakka noodles tasted good. But for some people who are used to food with heavy spices might find this one a bit less flavorful. One problem is the chicken chunks were a little sour, idk if that was their seasoning or the chicken was simply not fresh.

Chicken black pepper gravy would be perfect if it wasn't for the overwhelming aroma of the ginger, which was too much for my taste.
