#NadzOnTheGo: Restaurant Review – SWISS BUTTER.

@swissbutter a brand that originated in Lebanon, has opened up their 1st branch in Abu Dhabi. It has become a cult-like popular place to dine at. It’s located on the ground level of @novotelalbustan hotel. Very trendy and spacious venue with both outdoor and indoor seating area. Great lighting fixtures, industrial-style décor, woody furniture and lotsa greenery add to a casual yet classy vibe to it all. They have an open kitchen, wide selection of wines and beers – also serving as wall décor. They have a very simple menu – they know what they are offering and you know what you will be ordering! ;-) So yeah, straight to the point – it says they have just 3 mains – Chicken, Beef & Salmon. You can choose any one – or even 2 of the mains. You get to choose your sides – French fries or baked potato. You can also choose from their freshly baked baguette pieces – white or brown. Everything is served pretty quickly on a wooden platter. The mains are ladled in their special signature Swiss Butter sauce. There is a portion of red chili flakes on the side. The fries are a huge shareable portion and the mesclun salad too!

We tried:

Chicken in Swiss Butter sauce Beef in Swiss Butter sauce French fries Mesclun Salad Baked Potato Lemonade Cappuccino Americano Pain Perdu Molten Chocolate Cake

The salad was really good and the fries were thin and crisp. The secret sauce apparently took 10 years to master and contains 30 ingredients. It had a lemony, herby taste. The chicken and beef were well done and tasted good too. We had their lemonade which was a bit on the sour side but refreshing. For me the best part were their desserts – Pain perdu is a really soft textured French toast topped with caramel sauce and ice cream. The molten chocolate cake was so soft and tasted amazing too. Their Americano was strong and Cappuccino nice and creamy.

So overall, I would recommend Swiss Butter to those who want fuss-free casual dining with friends or family and those who are serious protein-eaters or steak lovers. I would go back for the desserts though – both were made...

Nestled in the heart of our beloved Abu Dhabi, Swiss Butter beckons discerning diners with promises of gastronomic delight. Last night, I embarked on a culinary odyssey, celebrating a special occasion with loved ones. The star of the evening? A rib eye with an excellent sauce that left an indelible mark on my taste buds.

The steak—grilled to perfection—was a testament to the chef’s artistry. Each succulent bite revealed layers of flavor, from the robust sear to the tender, juicy center. But it wasn’t just the steak itself; it was the sauce that elevated this dish to greatness. Velvety and rich, it danced harmoniously with the meat, leaving me craving more.

As we settled into our cozy corner, the warm ambiance enveloped us. The attentive staff, clad in crisp uniforms, greeted us with genuine smiles. Their warmth extended beyond mere professionalism; it felt like we were welcomed into their own home. And yes, baby-friendly—a rarity in fine dining establishments. High chairs appeared like magic, and our little one giggled as they enjoyed the ambiance.

Dessert arrived—a molten chocolate creation that defied gravity. As I cracked open the delicate shell, a river of velvety cocoa spilled forth. It was a symphony of sweetness, and I promptly ordered a second serving. The indulgence was worth every calorie.

In a world where time races by, Swiss Butter stood firm. Our plates arrived promptly, yet there was no rush. The balance between efficiency and unhurried enjoyment was commendable. And yes, the price—it matched the impeccable service and the quality of the fare. No hidden surprises; just a fair exchange for an unforgettable experience.

It isn’t merely a restaurant; it’s a canvas for celebrations. Whether you’re raising a toast with friends or sharing a quiet moment with family, this establishment weaves memories into every dish. So, gather your loved ones, savor those delicious steaks, and let the...

From Lebanon UAE. Swiss Butter opened their first restaurant in Beirut, Lebanon and quickly gained an almost cult-like status. They expanded to UAE by opening 2 branches in Dubai, and their newest branch located in Novotel - Al Bustan, Abu Dhabi

The concept for this Lebanese casual steakhouse is simple as the platter is served with a main dunked in their famous Swiss Butter sauce (choose from beef filet, chicken or salmon), fries or baked potato, mesclun salad, chili flakes and a serving of bread.

If you want to try both beef filet and chicken, the restaurant serves a mixed platter with half a serving of both mains .

We order one of each mains, and i enjoyed beef filet the most as a tossed each piece into their divine sauce before devouring the morsel. My platter was accompanied with Lebanese red wine which compliments a beef steak. My friends ordered Stella Artois and lemonade.

Though we were full with the meal, we managed to taste the dessert as well. We ordered one portion each of pain perdu and molten lava (both served with a scoop of ice cream) which we gladly shared due. Pain perdu was topped with caramel sauce, while molten lava was center filled and topped with chocolate sauce. Both the desserts were delicious in their own way.

The restaurant ambiance is cozy, and staff is extremely courteous and friendly.

It was our first visit to Swiss Butter, and definitely won't be the last.... Highly recommended to all steak lovers

Getting there and parking is a long running problem and this is also to true when getting your car returned, it took more than 30 minutes when it was promised at 5 mins. There seems to no clear organisation compared to other hotels, and this has been ongoing for several years. The food overall is good not exceptional, the steak and salmon were cooked to the direction we stated and we're good. The bread was a little hard and tasteless and no butter was offered. Additional condiments and basics such as salt and pepper should be offered at least for the chips and baked potato. The salad dressing was a little too strong on mustard flavour. The service flips between excellent to just poor. Limited options for kids, unless you share mains. The ambience isn't great for the price point, as we were sat on a round table with hard chairs, and this isn't a child friendly place. The poor: Even though we waited to be shown our seats and the staff could see we were a large party they seated another party which came after us first without even asking us, and this extended to having to repeatedly ask for plates, and cutlery, in the end I took them off another table, lack of condiments, and food not being served together, at least two of our mains were served 15 to 20 mins after the others. The good: the manager was faultless, the food on the whole was good.
