We had such a mixed review of this place. The actual physical restaurant is light and airy and has a nice neighbourly vibe. We sat on comfortable seats and we were greeted by 2-3 staff members and the manager even came over and said hello which was nice. We looked at the menu and felt they had nice options.
Ok so heres the negative part....My husband loves a salad but hates quinoa and it always happened to come in the salad he wants so he requested to the waiter if just the quinoa could be removed from the salad. The waiter looked at him like it was a stupid request and said 'no we can't remove it' - we then asked if the reason is because the salad is pre-mixed and he said 'no its not pre-mixed. So I pushed and asked why the quinoa couldn't be left out of the made up salad to which he responded 'ok let me ask the chef' - 2 minutes later he came back and said 'it's impossible' which was a strange word to hear from a waiter. We have been doing reviews of restaurants for a long time and I've never heard any one say that. So my husband ordered it knowing he will just end up having to sit removing the quinoa. The salad came and my husband sat and removed each piece of salad from the quinoa until he had one bowl of quinoa and one bowl of salad and then handed the bowl of quinoa to the waiter. I don't see why that couldn't have been done in the kitchen. Ruined our experience if I'm honest. I think the staff there could use some training for sure. There were small things too like not bringing us a spoon to stir our tea, forgetting cutlery with our meals, bringing a full fat coke when I've ask for coke light. All these things added up made it a bit aloft a rubbish lunch experience for us. The place has potential but needs...
Read moreMy dining experience at Mara Abu Dhabi was nothing short of a culinary adventure. The variety of dishes I tried left me utterly delighted.
I began with the Samosa Chaat, a burst of flavors and textures that delighted my taste buds. The crispy samosa combined with the tangy and spicy chaat toppings made for a perfect starter.
Next up were the Mozzarella Pops with Marinara Sauce - a cheesy indulgence that couldn't be more satisfying. The warm, gooey mozzarella paired with the zesty marinara sauce was a match made in heaven.
The Popcorn Dynamite Shrimps were a fiery delight. They were not just crunchy and spicy but also incredibly addictive. Each bite was a flavor explosion.
The Mini Buffalo Pizza was a treat for pizza lovers. Despite its size, it packed a punch with the perfect blend of spicy buffalo sauce and savory toppings.
The Rocca Salad provided a refreshing contrast to the bold flavors. It was crisp, fresh, and drizzled with a well-balanced dressing, making it a great palate cleanser.
And finally, the Southern Fried Chicken Tenders were a crispy and succulent delight. The crunchy coating and tender chicken made for a comforting dish.
The presentation of each dish was as impeccable as its taste, and the service was attentive and friendly. Mara Abu Dhabi has truly mastered the art of combining traditional and innovative flavors to create a memorable dining experience.
In summary, Mara Abu Dhabi is a must-visit for food enthusiasts looking for a diverse and exciting menu. The bold flavors, creative dishes, and impeccable service make it a culinary gem in the heart of Abu Dhabi. I can't wait to return and explore more of...
Read moreI went to Mara Restaurant recently and ordered a few dishes: the Mara Caesar Salad (60 AED), Beef Tacos (55 AED), Mara Pasta (70 AED), and Dynamite Fries (55 AED). The food itself was pretty good, but there were some things that didn’t quite hit the mark for me.
First, the flavors were solid. The Caesar Salad was fresh and tasty, the Beef Tacos had a nice flavor, and the Dynamite Fries were crispy and delicious. The Mara Pasta was good too, but the portion was so small for 70 AED—I was honestly surprised. I left still feeling a bit hungry, which isn’t ideal when you’re paying those prices.
Another issue was the service. I had to order drinks three times, and they finally brought them when I was almost done eating. It was frustrating, especially since I was really looking forward to enjoying my meal with a drink.
Overall, I’d give the place a 7/10. The food quality was decent (I’d rate it 7/10), but the portions were disappointing (5/10). I think Mara is a bit overrated, especially considering the prices and the service hiccups. It’s a nice spot with good flavors, but they need to work on portion sizes and speed of service to make it...
