3 stars because of the services. We sat upstairs, the waiter that was assigned to our table was condescending and unhelpful, he took our initial order and never checked with us for the remainder of our stay which was two hours, we had to ask other people for additional requests. We ordered couple of plates, only one came, we waited for the rest of the food for 30 minutes, it never came. Very unprofessional service specially considering the prices, extremely loud music for couple of people celebration sitting on the balcony with no regards to us sitting inside, couple of people left just because of the music. it’ll be very hard to come back again based on the impression we got.
Update: changing to 1 star. Our table was not serviced for another 45 minutes, we had hookah & they gave us charcoal three times only, we asked for a refresh 3 times it never came. I asked to speak with the manager 3 times, eventually the waiter who took our initial order came asking what’s wrong explaining the manager left for the day & he is in charge, I explained our concerns and instead of apologizing or explaining we were met with no respect and no professionalism. he proceeded to speak with me with attitude and insinuating I was lying when I said we asked for charcoal refresh 3 times and he even said that since the restaurant is closing in 30 minutes they’ll take it away anyhow & that’s their policy. This is definitely my last time here, I don’t recommend coming here if you’re looking to get your money’s worth or to be treated with respect and decency.
Update 2: After insisting to be provided with an email or a phone number to talk with a manager the next day, Fouad came to our table & apologized to us for the treatment we received & we were told we have 30% discount, I wasn’t given the receipt so I could’t check if there’s was actually a discount or they just removed the order we cancelled, but the total was exactly what we ordered 🤷🏽♀️. Although I appreciate Fouad’s words, but I still won’t...
Read moreI've visited the new location for the first time with my family of 8 .. we're regulars at the old location but we wanted to try out the new one.
To start of, 8 people sat down & got one complimentary dip dish with 1 piece of bread , knowing you get the same if you were two imagine how it looks like passing down that same small dipping dish & one loaf of bread for 8 people.
Food came in pretty quick though which was good until we realized the food quality is not the same.
Had the tulum salad that was mostly green leafs with dressing "Barely any cheese or raisins or tomatoes in it" the Muhammara was just pure chilli paste & the Cheese burek were tasteless .. Coming to the main courses, The Meat Saj was more like Peppers Saj as there were few pieces of meat buried in a pile of peppers, Iskandar kabab was cold, the Mix doner was super dry & finally the missing order which was the new Sultan kabab tahini which apparently wasn't even placed by the waiter in the first place , came in late & dense with tahini that you could barely taste anything else.
Now it's a tradition that once you're done with the food you get a complimentary Tea, Other tables got it straight away but not us .. The waiter came to ask if we wanted dessert but told him to give us a bit till we get our order together as we have kids & we're 8 people so it will take time .. That tea did not come to the table until i had to point it out 20 minutes later which the waiter replies "You told me to give you time" The time mentioned is for me to give the orders for dessert & not for what you consider a complimentary service. No remorse nor apologies were given for the missing order or the tea incident. Such a shame as i'd definitely wouldn't go back for such service or food when it's definitely not considered a...
Read moreSultan Saray is a Turkish restaurant located on the Ajman Corniche that obviously serves Turkish cuisine but also has sheesha.
Looks like a popular spot for brunch as the place was quite busy with diners as we entered for an early lunch on Sunday. The restaurant has a lovely covered patio/deck right on top of the water but that section was full plus they don't allow families with young children to sit there due to the second hand smoke from the sheesha.
Still it was a nice bright ambiance inside and the extensive menu looked interesting.
We ordered a plain cheese pide, mixed doner meal, ali yazlik, chicken sheesh, turkish salad plus a margarita drink and an iced mocha. Drinks were good but my margarita looked & tasted like a fruit cocktail with a dollop of cream on top but it was refreshing & not very sweet which I like. My Ali Yazlik dish was spicier than expected but I really enjoyed how the spicy sauteed veggies merged with the creamy yogurt/labneh on the plate. All the meat items on our table were excellent. Chicken sheesh was probably the weakest dish on our table but still good & very filling with the sides that came with it.
Dishes were good especially all the items with red meat which were juicy, tender and well flavoured with Turkish spice mix. It was a heavy meal and we left ourselves with no room for some of the yummy dessert options on display.
Prices were definitely on the higher side despite us not ordering any dessert. Aed 30+ for the drinks was too steep in my opinion but considering the ambiance & the fact that one can easily spend 2 hours over a meal I can sort of understand the pricing.
A good place to entertain guest who are...
