AL MARHABANI MANDI - JUMEIRAH — Restaurant in Dubai

Not a serious place to eat. We looked on the internet and it was supposed to be open. Arrived at 4 pm and the guard told us it was closed because of Ramadan. We told him we came from another country especially to eat here. The guard went inside the restaurant to get some info after which he came back and told us that the restaurant would be open from 6pm to 3am, so we left. Went back at 8:20pm, and the guard stopped us to tell us that the restaurant was closed, though there were people inside. He said it was open from 6 to 8 and that it will reopen at 10. Again we told him of our desire to eat there and that we only had one day in Dubai. He went inside and came back with the owner, who basically told us they were closed and to come back later. We spent over 50€ on taxi rides to go to a restaurant that keeps telling us they will be open later. One of the best places in all of Dubai for Yemeni and Saudi dishes. You are welcomed by very friendly staff and given the option of the traditional floor seating or standard table seating. They then take your order and everything on their menu is phenomenal. It depends on what flavours your taste buds are craving check with your server to decide whether you want Mandi, Mathbi, Kabsa or Bukhari (they are all equally delicious - depending on your taste buds). Not very much recommended place and food. All plates are tradition and there is no creativity in work. Food presentation does not go beyond local plates found in any other street not in Jumeirah street. All rice has almost the same taste you do not feel a difference and tomato sauce comes with lots of water no real tomato sauce. Prices against food quality way high some prices review would give added value. Nice parking service provided on busy street and some outdoor lots available for outdoors dining.
