Nine Squares Restaurant (Jumeirah Branch) — Restaurant in Dubai

Food is good but be wary of the service in the Jumeirah branch. After we've placed our order on the paper menu I gave it to the waiter. He asked me if I had been here before and I said no but I'm not an inexperienced hot pot enjoyer I just assumed he wanted to explain something specific that they do but no. He proceeded to CHANGE MY ORDER without telling me. Took the pen scratched out my spicy level, it was at a 3 to a 1 and wrote less oil. And he didn't tell me he did this or ask me if I was sure about the spice just made his own assumptions. Then he told me I ordered too much and started to DELETE some of my orders. I've never been to a restaurant that told me what I should or should not order. I felt like I had to fight to order what I went there for. If anyone who goes to hotpot regularly knows there are certain dishes you want specifically. I wanted a full plate of lettuce root for example not just 4 pieces in a combo plate along with 3 other vegetables that I will not eat. I don't know about anyone else but when I go to hot pot I want that mala burn and numbing your face spicy if it's not spicy enough I will not be happy. If I was the owner of this restaurant I would not have been happy about this server. I don't want to group everyone together because it's a big restaurant and it was only him that I had a bad experience with. I was going to get his name but after I made a fuss and told him off he disappeared with his coworkers saying he went to eat food. I can understand why he maybe did this, maybe some people don't understand and order it too spicy. Maybe they order too much and don't finish it, but this isn't a buffet, everything that was left over I took it home with me in a container. If you're a server and you see a questionable order you can bring it up to the customer one time but if they stick to their order then I believe it is your job to do that. Not fighting over the spicy level?! I literally had to say "Trust me I am from Thailand I eat this all the time I want the spicy". I have never had to fight with someone about that.
