Biryaniwala & co has been my go to place for some amazing Indian cuisine. But my expectations from their Mamzar branch came nose diving to the floor. I’ll start with the good things first : It’s a beautifully done up Restaurant which gives you a fine dining ambiance. Decor & Interior 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 Warm Welcoming Staff 👍🏻👍🏻 Tableware & Cutlery 👎🏻 Food 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 Cleanliness 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻 Pricing 👎🏻
My first encounter with disappointment was when my food arrived. I had called for Mutton Bhuna. Usually the Bhuna that I’ve had is a Dry / Semi Dry dish. But what I received was a gravy. At first I though it was a wrong order. So I confirmed with the server and he confirmed that it’s Mutton Bhuna and I was told that this is how it is served in this restaurant. So I suggested the gentleman that next time if someone calls for Mutton Bhuna pls inform the guest that it’s served as a gravy and not dry. This will save the guest from disappointment.
Second disappointment strikes when I found a tiny hair strand in my Mutton Biryani. If it was any other restaurant I would’ve definitely created a scene out of it because this is a clear breach of hygiene. But it was only and only because of my equation with Mr.Aslam who use to manage the Biryaniwalla & co Hor al Anz branch I decided to keep quite. As the restaurant had good occupancy and it wouldn’t have been a good thing to endorse such a thing in front of everyone and ignored it.
My third & biggest disappointment was when I entered the hand wash area. It was a mess. Total mess. It was no less than a shabby restaurant located in remote areas except for the beautiful decor. It was not just the floor that was totally wet but also the sink area was flooded as if someone has had shower in there with bits of tissues lying near the sink as well as on the floor. The tissue dispenser which operates as a sensor wasn’t working too. There is no way one expects this kind of experience at a fine dine restaurant or for a matter of fact at any restaurant.
As a guest we decide to visit good restaurant knowing the price is high compared to other restaurants in the same locality is because of the exclusivity. We’re paying not just for the food but for the experience. And in my case it was totally opposite of pleasant.
My heart goes to Reza, he should see where his beautiful outlet is headed. It takes years to build a name for the brand but to bring it down is effortless. Pls advise the team to live upto the set standards of the restaurant. There should be zero tolerance towards cleanliness and...
Read moreWhat we ordered: Zaffrani biryani, mini mutton platter, keema fry, butter naan, paneer makhani, additional plain white rice.
Our experience: Our dinner began with a serving of complimentary salad. The main course arrived shortly after we placed our order, along with seasoned yoghurt and an unnamed yellow gravy. The biryani was well cooked throughout and overflowing the dish - a feast for the eyes and no less for the stomach! Flavourful on its own, it didn't need any fancy additions.
I had zero expectations for the mutton platter, but it was a surprise hit. Perhaps one of the more memorable dishes of the night. From my experience with various mutton centred dishes so far, whether grilled or fried, it usually comes with a peculiar off-putting smell. This one had none of that. Cooked perfectly, it had a delightful chewy and moist texture.
The paneer curry was nice as well, creamy with good flavour. Unfortunately, the keema fry didn't quite live up to its name or the potential it had to deliver. It fell short not because of its taste but because it lacked a certain spark. It could have been just as palatable as the rest, however, I couldn't quite put my finger on what was missing out of it.
We aren't familiar with Hyderabad flavour per se but an introduction to it from biryaniwalla & co. has given us a pretty good start. The flavours are subtly distinct from what you'd typically expect indian biryani, curry, and such to taste like. Delicious, nonetheless. The seating environment is clean, aptly air conditioned, well-lit, the tables are well spaced out and the decor isn't overwhelming either. In short, this outlet has a warm and inviting, family friendly atmosphere.
Highlights: (1) the generous serving size where quality meets quantity at a reasonable price. (2) The seating set up with soft, comfy couches that ever-so gently tempts you to take a quick nap right there after a meal.
Suggestion: You could elevate customer experience by letting folks choose their spice level. Ranging from mild to very spicy, a customised spice level system like that could be more inclusive for those with lower spice tolerance/who are unfamiliar with Indian cuisine and for those who like it when the heat's turned all the way up. Nobody gets left out and everybody gets to enjoy your delicious dishes how they...
Read moreDisaster & Horrible Experience!!!!!!!
We visited this branch multiple time in past. However today 19th May 2023 the experience was completely disaster even I would say disaster is the under statement.
Let start with food quality
soup was watery & taste like salted water. Naan & paratha was doughy & very thick & raw on sides. Tikka was dry looks like made in advance as it not hot at all & looks liked warm upon order.
Hygiene - horrible full of cockroaches
Too many cockroaches on table & walls. Absolutely unhygienic situation we saw three cockroaches we saw on our table & wall. Imagine if this is state in dining what will be inside kitchen God bless & hope no one falls sick eating food.
Service - Disaster & very rude. Spoiling the Name of Biryaniwalla
We inform about soup to waiter no reaction he took the unfinished bowl as if nothing happened or he don't care.
We shown cockroaches to waiter he just killed them by stamping. No regrets I believe it's usual site for them.
We asked for manager he was on phone did not shown any urgency to cut the phone for customer made us wait for him to finish the call I believe something very important on call. Finally we informed about cockroaches & everything about the food & service. He was absolutely cold not even sorry or any sign of regret & sympathy. In response he said we did pest control yesterday only in tone That he did his job & cockroaches are not his problem as he did pest control so we should complain about pest control company & not to him. We understood talking further with him will not results in anything as the guy is totally incompetent.
We can understand the state of restaurant as the management staff is so bad. I don't think they are qualified to take care of customers not the assets at restaurants.
Feel very sorry for Biriyaniwala & CO. As we are visiting Al Nahda branch since...
