I chose Hoseki for a very special occasion - to celebrate my 10th wedding anniversary. I can't say it was a bad experience but it was certainly below my expectations.
Pros Beautiful location Very nice view Very friendly and attentive waitresses Food which was served was absolutely delicious Great choice of sake and chapagne
Cons Very scarse portions or rather very few pieces of sushi/sashimi during the meal.
I specifically informed the team before hand thay I couldn't eat garlic or onions, yet I was served a sushi full of garlic or onion. Thanx to my husband promt reaction I avoided eating that piece and getting sick. The chef HAS not offered another piece as replacement or apologized for the mistake.
The chef wasn't really communicating nor explaining well what was being served. He was saying something but at such low tone that we couldn't hear or understand a thing. The menu has no desert (unless u count a tiny piece of chocolate at the end).
Overall the experience was good but without the WOW factor and not amazing enough to go back. I also booked my 50th bday dinner on May 26th but I guess we will cancel it and book...
Read moreIf I could give less than 1 star I would. This was by far the most expensive dinner I ever had and at the same time the worst. From the failed service by waiters that think they need to fill wine to the rim of your glass to the extreme long waiting time for a cocktail the service was utterly bad. But the food was worse. 10 courses of raw seafood with no taste. The chef didn't even respond to the fact that I didn't want to try the raw squid after my wife spit it out?! Only the cooked crab had some taste everything else was bland and too much sushi for the rest of my life. I've been to several omakase restaurants in Dubai never this expensive but always nice food. Maybe this is the true way they do it in Japan but I am not a fan and I would not recommend anyone to try it. Maybe try to adjust what you are preparing to what people sitting at the counter like in line with what is mentioned on...
Read moreI had a truly exquisite experience at Hoseki, from the moment of arrival at the luxurious Bvlgari Hotel to being ushered into the intimate dining area. Greeted by wonderful staff dressed in elegant Japanese regalia, the attention to detail was evident from the start.
The Omakase experience was both enjoyable and personalised, with the chefs taking into account individual preferences to create a memorable culinary journey. The chefs themselves were fantastic – energetic, engaging, and clearly masters of their craft. Their knife skills were nothing short of mesmerising, and the sushi was sublime.
Particular highlights for me were the Hokkaido uni, the perch, and the tuna belly – each bite was perfection. While it is undeniably an expensive experience, it’s one that I wholeheartedly recommend for a special occasion or simply to indulge in exceptional...
