Subpar food, nothing extraordinary, poor service, had higher expectations for a 2 star Michelin restaurant. Probably the worst Italian high end + Michelin restaurant I’ve been to. My wine wasn’t topped up as frequent as my other guests, dropped a knife on purpose, took over 8 minutes to replace, server mixed plates up and overall very bland dishes. Would NOT recommend to anyone wanting authentic Italian food in dubai. Il boro, Scalini or Cipriani is the way to go, even Torno Subito by Massimo Bottura. (1 star) is by far tastier than this 2 star restaurant. We ordered a starter each and a main with 2 sides, could have cooked the cold roasted potatoes better myself. The only good thing about this restaurant was its background music. Hope they loose their stars next year as it’s shocking to see how they could have even gotten 1 to begin with. I encourage the Michelin guide reviewers to be more careful and not biased with their allotment of stars. Have been eating at Michelin star restaurants for over 13 years and Lux Lucis in Forte De Marmi (1 star) deserves 3, if this restaurant can attain 2, what a joke, spent over 700AED per person which went down the drain. However, they gave us bvlgari goodie bags, thoughtful but does not make up for the food or poor service. Will not come here again or visit Niko’s other 3 star restaurant in Italy. Michelin...
Read moreIt’s absolutely a place underrated in Dubai that I’m surprised to see 3.9 on Google. We have been travelled around the world visiting those fancy gastronomy, and this place has not disappointed us in any.
The major figure in the kitchen and service are originally Italian so you could be sure they won’t cheat themselves for a terrible pasta or a badly cooked food.
You could easily recognise their authentic resource of ingredients and discover their excellent cellar. Be careful, the taxe of alcohol is awfully high in dubai, so the price of bottles could be heavy.
The view face to the harbour somehow makes you calm and relax, the magic of water.
Oh service, my favorite part, we were cared by 3-4 staff in different manners by handling and presenting the plats, answer questions, introducing the wine pairings. The welcoming passion of Italians are fully demonstrated at our lovely nights which so quickly made us feel like home.
We stayed for 6 nights, and we through 2 nights here from 8pm until they “push” us out. We spent so much good moment there.
So hey you, if you have any doubt about whether you shall have a try, you SHOULD go. It would be a heart broken bill, but a wonderful evening to highlight your Dubai souvenir.
Ps, we have successfully persuaded few friends to go and all of them were happy and grateful. 100% satisfaction of...
Read moreExtremely disappointing for a 2 Michelin star. I have travelled throughout Italy and have had Italian food in many locations around the world. This has to be the worst Italian food I have ever eaten. It’s basic at best! I don’t know how the chef has obtained its stars and to be frank I’ve lost my faith in Michelin if this is the kind of food they recommend. We ordered the sharing appetisers which were a mixture of cold and hot starters and they were average (could have been bought at a supermarket to be honest!)
We then ordered 3 main courses; spaghetti with garlic, chilli and sea urchin, Milanese risotto and spaghetti with lobster and red prawns. All 3 dishes were inedible! Risotto has too much saffron and was extremely lemony, the lobster and prawn spaghetti was sweet and my son said it tasted like he was eating flowers and the sea urchin one was okay. First time ever we’ve been to a restaurant and have not finished our meal as you just couldn’t swallow it! Desserts were nice but not Michelin star rated. If you want good solid Italian food in Dubai just go to Eataly in Dubai mall. You’ll get honest Italian food and delicious desserts. Michelin should remove the stars for ll Ristorante if they want to remain credible in the...
