Walked in for dinner, the no nonsense and cozy atmosphere paid our attention. Welcomed by Noordin, the manager, who really went the extra mile. Besides that the drinks and food were amazing, really good quality, presentation and portions, we wanted to buy their delicious Bateel Date Balsamic Vinegar Classic, which they served as well during our dinner. Unfortunately this item seemed sold out, however Noordin understood our disappointment, since we wanted to bring it back with us to Portugal, as a reminder of our Dubai trip. He discovered there was one bottle left on display which was really difficult to reach, however he still managed to get us the last bottle, before checking the expiry date and general condition of the item. Besides this really kind gesture, Noordin also checked-in with us regularly during dinner and on the end apologised for the ‘slow’ service on that evening (it was the 1st of January), as they were overwhelmed by the number of clients. We didn’t felt that at all, service in general was excellent and rather fast. I frequently visit Bateel and have been to multiple branches and usually everything is fine (I am a fan) but In Dubai Hills Mall Bateel Cafe we had two unpleasant service experiences in a row. Staff (Including manager) really need to learn service oriented behavior and treat guests with respect.

Incident: Waitress followed us in mall shouting we haven’t paid and I showed her the message from HSBC and we went to cafe with her and she kept on saying it’s not reflecting in her system. She called her manager and she also started checking system by refreshing it and said it’s not reflecting. I insisted you call the guy who took payment from me and they didn’t. Eventually I asked them to print the payment receipt from credit card terminal and manager asked sir credit card machine or bill? Where I said credit card machine and she checked bank message again.
