The night started out promising with very friendly service and the setting was comfortable. I booked Teppanyaki for dinner and chose the Australian Wagyu beef course. Thats when things go south. For the first time, stirfried vegetables were served as the first cooked course after salad and sushi. I never had this experience before, usually this course is the second last after the meat courses. Then came lobster with mushroom which was way too salty. But what did it for me was the "wagyu" tenderloin. I have never seen a wagyu, regardless of grades or provenance, that there were NO marbling. It was as lean as grass fed New Zealand beef. After cooking, it proved to be dry and tasteless. There was no fat. I refused to eat it as I suspect it was definitely the wrong product. I raised the problem with the chef but he said it was from the supplier. I raised this issue with the manager and she gave me a discount. But that is not the point as it was a promising meal ruined.
I question the quality of the Teppanyaki ingredients of this place and whether an inferior product was used as "Wagyu". Very...
Read moreMy family and I had our dinner here for Christmas. We were excited to try their teppanyaki, although we have ordered other mains which arrived earlier and they had to serve one other teppanyaki order before us, the slow service and waiting for 2 hours just to have the experience is not acceptable at all. Comparing this experience with other places, the Teppanyaki Chef moves at a very slow pace hence affected our whole night! The foods were also very subpar so it was not worth it at all. We have also ordered 3 sets of rice, but the Chef just used one set for the entire order. Was looking forward to have a good time since it was Christmas day but it was only a disappointment considering the...
Read moreFirst class Teppenyaki. We’ve been to a few around Dubai but keep coming back to Miyako. A single teppen table at the end of the kitchen seats around 8. This position allows you to watch the chefs preparing their sushi and other dishes. Flavoursome, full clean flavours. Great set menus but they flexible enough to adapt to our requirements and swap in/out some dishes. Nice wine list. 50% discount happy hour. Once again tonight (April 2025) we’ve left nicely full and looking forward to our next visit. As for the rest of the menu, I don’t know how authentic it is but every time we’ve been here there are multiple tables of Japanese diners - always a good sign. Highly...
