The Original Rooftop by Citrus — Restaurant in Dubai

Good place to drink. Bad place if you want to be connected with world. I am one of frequent to their Marina outlet Headline.. Today I went to The Rooftop for midnight drink. Place is decent and upto the standard. Some issue with staff or the local management. I am allergic to smoke, ask the server to change the seat, but she was like I don't care. And moved me to adjacent table obviously without solving the actual purpose of getting rid of direct smoke. Ordered Mexican (hoggardean) and it was good as everywhere. Then my battery got drained and phone died.. irony in this mobile world non of their staff had a charger, or I can say that lack of sense to serve the guest in need. If this is management Rule to not entertaining person like me who just want to give a life to its phone so that, other person in need might reach out to me as I am in service industry and serving peoples travel requirements. Or it is units incapability to understand the need of discerning visitor.. Also to a second thought it might be good decision of not putting thr guests phone on charge due to many reasons from security to safety there is always scope of going beyond rule.. Eventually what happened is I just left by drinking 2 beer, had my phone not getting switched off, I would have continued refilling untill 3 am. For them (Mr Bambani and team) this must be very small issue, as they must have only lost the revenue of 120 to 240 aed. (As I could have only drank 4 pints not more than that) but for me it was very big event.. which thrown me into an uncomfortable zone of even visiting their other outlet, in one of which (Headline in marina)one of my very close connect work. I will not go to this place ever because they can't charge my phone, which will help me connect with world, business, friends and families.. No hard Felings but yes cant visit where staffs are robot. And yes, this might be my one instances. Having said what I said, this is nice place to be, great food, excellent music, electric environment, good Indian crowd. I had been to the restaurant just once before, by default. I had called another restaurant as I wanted to take my girl pals out one Wednesday. They put me through to this restaurant as it was under the same umbrella and could fulfill all my requirements and had a a rocking ladies night too. Then I wanted to organize a get together for 20+ ladies on a Wednesday. Zoya and Pulkit helped me organize it … and they did a fantastic job of it. They served all the food from a set meal at the table. The starters, the food and the drinks were really good. The entertainment was par excellence. The servers were very very attentive and every single person I had invited had the time of their lives. The valet didn’t work that day, which was a pain, since the area is a bit dodgy, but we sent a pin of the basement parking, which solved the problem.

I would definitely recommend this restaurant… especially on a Wednesday, when they have an amazing singer, the impersonators, a fantastic DJ and a fantastic dance troupe. Each person in the dance group looked like they were having loads of fun - and THAT takes some doing, because at the end of the day it’s their job and I am sure it must be repetitive for them. AVOID THIS PLACE !! The food was pathetic and super costly. The management has changed and they no longer respect their customers. They only value their regular customers who are spending thousands of dirhams. The staff and the manager was super rude and arrogant. They have audacity to say that we give preferential seats to customers who are spending more

I went with my husband on a weekend after booking the table on Zomato. They said they only consider the bookings done with them directly. They were giving us seats at the end. When we requested for the front seats they said the tables are reserved with no reservation tag on it.

When we said we can increase the minimum spend, then they said we can get seats at the front. Basically, they give preference to groups since they will be generating more revenue for them.

The staff says you can get only High chairs, we will not give any other place to sit since you are only 2 people. The manager also tells you the same thing. They are ok if the customer leaves without spending time but not ok to accommodate their request. This has happened twice with us.

We will never go to this place for sure. People go out to relax and enjoy the hospitality. Not for this rubbish discussion and...
