A Horrific Stay at Rolla Residence Hotel Apartment – Avoid at All Costs Our stay at Rolla Residence Hotel Apartment in Dubai from October 9th to 16th, 2024, was nothing short of a nightmare. I was traveling with my wife and 9-year-old son, and despite being charged extra for the child, we were subjected to some of the worst service I have ever experienced at any hotel. Here’s why you should steer clear of this place:
Unbelievable Towel Policy The hotel refused to provide more than two towels per day for our room. Apparently, this is their "policy." I have never heard of such a ridiculous rule. When I insisted on an extra towel, the service personnel did provide one, only for the service manager, Siraj, to start shouting at his junior staff right in front of me. He said, "Why are you giving the guest an extra towel? Deny him, let the guest figure out what to do, and stop changing their towels at all. For all I care, they can use the same damp towel every day till they stay with us." This kind of attitude towards paying guests is outrageous and unacceptable. It made us feel as if we were begging for basic amenities. One Key Card Per Room Only one access key card per room is allowed, which was incredibly inconvenient for our family. Again, this was justified as "hotel policy." What kind of establishment denies guests the basic convenience of an extra key card? Water Bottle Rationing We were provided only two half-liter bottles of water per room, and that too only once during our entire 7-day stay. This level of cost-cutting is absurd, and it’s clear the hotel has no regard for guest comfort. Pathetic Extra Bed My friend took an extra bed for his room, and it was an utter joke. The mattress was barely 1-2 inches thick and was placed on a frame with metal bars spaced about a foot apart, making for an excruciatingly uncomfortable sleep. It's worse than a low-cost hospital bed. Of course, this too was "as per hotel policy." Expect back pain if you end up trying to sleep on it. Conflicting Information About Breakfast Services I was informed by an employee on October 10th that the hotel had a live breakfast counter (included in our package) available on Sundays. However, when I checked again on October 13th, I was told there is no such system. Inconsistency and misleading information are rampant here. Degrading Buffet Quality On October 14th, 1-2 dishes disappeared from the breakfast buffet. It seems the hotel is shamelessly cutting corners to save costs, further diminishing an already subpar experience. Ridiculous Cutlery Policy We were given basic cutlery to use in the room, but when we expected the hotel to clean it, we were told that washing cutlery was not their responsibility. The lack of basic services and responsibility is appalling.
Rolla Residence Hotel Apartment seems more interested in penny-pinching than providing a pleasant stay for its guests. They go to extreme lengths to cut costs and make customers feel like beggars, even after we’ve paid for a so-called "service." I have never felt so disrespected and unwelcomed in a hotel. Every excuse seems to be backed up by their infamous "hotel policy," which seems to be an all-encompassing term to justify their poor service and penny-pinching.
DO NOT STAY HERE unless you want to be treated as an inconvenience rather than a paying guest. This place is a disgrace to hospitality, and I would never recommend it to anyone. Spend your money elsewhere, where you’ll be treated with the respect and dignity that a...
Read moreTL/DR: Horrible experience at the Rolla Residence Hotel Apartment. Unclean rooms, terrible service and food, and an impossible parking situation. Rude staff and a lack of hospitality make this place not worth staying at. Avoid it at all costs. (Details and why are below; refer to the conclusion as well.)||Rooms: ★☆☆☆☆|My uncle had to switch rooms because the initial one was unclean, which is unacceptable for any hotel, let alone a 4-star one. The overall cleanliness of the room did not meet basic expectations. I would share a photo but at the moment I was assured it wouldnt happen so refrained (which I regret)||Service: ★☆☆☆☆|The service was bad. My uncle experienced a very bad breakfast. When parking, the security rudely claimed that the manager denied parking after initially approving it even after speaking to the guest, leaving us stranded. When I mentioned that I would be writing a bad review due to this awful and inhospitable experience, the security guard dismissively responded, "Go write it." This shows a blatant disregard for customer service and hospitality. The inconvenience is added further to the guest and visitors considering the location and the constant traffic. (More below)||Location: ★☆☆☆☆|The parking situation is a complete nightmare. Driving to the hotel is stressful, and parking is practically impossible. ||The main entrance often has a "No Parking" sign that seems to be moved based on the manager’s mood, making drop-offs and pick-ups a hassle. ||The street is always packed with cars, effectively turning it into a one-way road with cars facing opposite directions on the second lane. Even if you manage to get approval to park at the back, the back entrance is down another one-way road with no one attending the gate. ||The security and, per him, the manager often like to change their stance on whether parking is allowed, even under a minute after their approval at peak traffic hours, leaving you stranded in front of the gate. ||There's a tiny little speaker, which you have to pray is attended to too; otherwise, you have to walk back to the front desk all the way from your car in the unbearable humidity and leave your car behind.||Overall Experience:||This hotel is to be avoided at all costs. The lack of hospitality is shocking. Between 6 and 11 p.m., the road is full, making it impossible to park at the front or back. Bur Dubai, anyway, is a crowded area full of traffic. ||Imagine being a paying guest and being told that your car can't be attended to or items dropped off after paying for a room. ||The staff shows no consideration for your troubles, regardless of whether you are paying or just need 10 minutes of their time. ||The behavior of the security and manager showcases that they do not care about hospitality, reflecting poorly on Rolla Residence Hotel. ||This sentiment is echoed in other one-star reviews, which also highlight issues of unhygienic conditions and poor hospitality. ||If there are other platforms where the hotel has a page, I would leave a review there as well, since the experience...
Read moreThis is after staying 22 days in continuation, I was here on official visit and have not paid from my pocket, so no comments on pricing. Was here with family for 10 nights in their suit and it was a pleasant stay, nice spacious room, proficient staffs, very responsive..be it asking for extra utensils or a quick makeover of the room which they do daily anyway. The breakfast buffet is also a big plus. The Gym is not well kept and it is small in area, this was the only disappointment I had. You can enjoy the pool, kids love it. The kitchen with washing machine, two burner flameless electric heater, sufficient number of utensils and crockeries are great help during long stay. The Hotel is well locates geographically. Apart from Metro and bus stop which are at walking distance, there are good superstores which opens 24X7 at stone throw distance, Baqer Mohebi is the best for grocery and Day to Day at Al Fahidi Metro station is best for Souvenir, toys, cheap perfumes, cosmetics and electronics. I have only stayed in this hotel but some of my colleagues had to stay in other hotels nearby and when they moved in they said it is better than others nearby. I will give 4.0 out of 5 to this hotel. Cut 1.0 point for poor gym and narrow balcony. And yes good wifi speed and...
