The paella was extremely tasty, I loved that they included such a wide range of seafood in it. Not many places even include the octopus that they did. The starter skewers that we ordered were tasty and went well with the paella. The service was relatively fast, they checked on us and were friendly. Will be going again for the paella.
Update: We visited the All Bar One recently again and this time the experience was, how to put it, disappointing. The service was very poor, some food was good but not all. The first thing that we felt weird about was that after we have been seated, the waiter only came to us after 40min after we sat down so we were forced to order online but it didn’t even work well as the payments were taking long to process due to poor internet. Afterwards, the food arrived weirdly timed, we received our starters first, the people we were with got their main and starter together even though requested separate. Our mains took ages to arrive as well. Some of the dishes were not to good, the pad Thai chicken was extremely dry to the point it was inedible. We waited long for the dishes to be collected after we ate, about 30 min, and they were only collected when we asked, for some reason they didn’t do it themselves. The waiters looked really unhappy and like they hate their job. Afterwards, we wanted to order desserts, it wasn’t as easy as we would have expected it to be, as it took ages for them to come up and ask, we had to catch them ourselves. Eventually, when we did manage to ask for desserts and get the table cleaned off with the previous dishes, we made a special request on the desserts and asked the waiter to come to us and let us know about the request we have made, instead he just went ahead and ordered it for us without asking. In the end that dessert was not what we requested and included the item we asked to take out. The churros were nice but I feel like the serving of them was not thought through as the amount of chocolate inside the little cup was just laughable and looked silly. In the end we had to again go up and get our bill ourselves as no one came up to us. Additionally, not once did anyone come to us to check on us and how we like the food or not. Half of the bill was also given a discount due to delay of food but considering that the majority amount was paid online and the other part in person the part paid in person was not that big. Plus the discount doesn’t necessarily make it better for the delays and other things that happened. The first time was great and that’s what we expected in the second time but it wasn’t the case. Read moreOn arrival for our 4.30pm booking before going to the theatre. We were greeted with a surly (come in if you want but….) ‘there’s a 40 minute wait for food’. Having booked in early OCTOBER we, 4 adults, were shown to a tiny round table tucked away behind a screen next to 3 tables of mums drinking wine and children climbing over the seats and doing as they pleased. It was like going to McDonald’s. There were beautiful comfortable big booth tables empty in the main part of the restaurant which remained empty the entire time we were there. Having booked in October you expect a good table. Waitresses walking around the restaurant keep their eyes to the ground and don’t take you on. We waited an age to order drinks, and even longer to receive them, and yes the food took forever. The Peroni on tap had clearly sat too long in the pipes and not been refreshed, it tasted horrible and gave the men sore stomachs. When the food arrived it was definitely like being at McDonald’s, cold fries, overcooked cold calamari, tasteless prawns and thick greasy fish batter. The cold chips were replaced on request, no apology. No one asked us if we wanted anything else. We asked for the bill, but no one came back to take the payment. After half an hour I went to the bar to pay, but was ignored. Eventually I had to ask the manager to take the payment as we had waited so long, again no apology. What has happened to All Bar One? Read morea very disappointing experience. i would not recommend coming here during any peak hours as i don’t believe they can handle it. we visited on saturday night at 7.45, we waited until 9pm until we could catch a waiter to take our food order. we were made aware of a 30 minute wait on food when our order was taken. upon arrival we initially waited 30 minutes for 6 cocktails which can be understandable however the food wasn’t out till nearer the hour mark with absolutely no communication from staff. again no apology when the food arrived. most of the food was actually decent but a lot of them were just smothered in flavoured mayo and poppy seeds taking up the main flavours. we had ordered more drinks over the app whilst waiting for food and waited 50 minutes for these again no apology or explanation. the cocktails were all lovely and we all would have had much more if the wait time wasn’t as long. we asked for water for the table and when we received it every single water glass was dirty, we made the waitress aware - she took the glasses away and we never got new ones. resulting in us using our empty cocktail glasses for our water. when it came to pay there was again nothing knocked off the bill, a small discount or even a verbal apology! i can understand being busy on a saturday night but a large business like this should have the staff to accommodate. and being in hospitality myself, you should be much more apologetic to the customer who is spending a lot of money to relieve little to no service. terrible experience and there are much nicer places in aberdeen with better service...
