Often great, just not this time. I like brew dog enough to be a shareholder and it's one of a few places in the city centre that doesn't feel run down or empty. Alas this time me and the family went over for lunch before a cinema trip and left before the food even got to us. We ordered and waited and waited. After 25 minutes I asked the server what was happening; he checked and apologised but said the food would be out in five minutes - he offered us more drinks on the house but we declined. After just over 30 minutes I asked again and there was still going to be a wait. Apparently there was a large order and we happened to be behind it. Now the serving staff were apologetic and friendly enough but it was just too late for us. So I paid for my drinks and told the person who took my cash that I was disappointed, having had to wait for 40 minutes. He corrected me, saying it was actually 37 minutes(!) and told me I could have just ordered it to take away. I don't really fancy eating full on gloopy burgers, sticky wings and fries for four in a crowded cinema but hey ho. So, we ended up with a less than satisfactory bag of popcorn each. Why am I writing this? Everyone makes mistakes, everyone is busy. The waiting staff were very helpful. The guy who took my cash couldn't have cared less. We will be back, because we...
Read moreGreat location and we really enjoyed the food. The reason for the 2 star rating was the service (lack of): We tried to order food using the QR code on the table. Input the order a couple of times but when you clicked "pay" it said the restaurant was closed? When I enquired, I was told it didn't work. How about letting people know that? There were 3 people employed (deliberately didn't use the term working) behind the bar. At 1 point there were 4 people standing waiting to be served while the staff were doing something more important? Lastly, my biggest complaint. There was a lack of product knowledge in the staff. I really like the Brewdog Lucky Break NEIPA. I was disappointed this wasn't available. I asked what was available similar to this. The staff hadn't heard of Luck Break and had no clue about similar beers. This isn't the fault of the staff. Brewdog need to put staff members through some product training before they are serving in a brewery pub. At least have 1 staff member on shift that has a clue. I've been to 4 Brewdog pubs and only the one in Dundee had someone who was capable of...
Read moreWe were disappointed with this Brewdog and we're normally fans of the Brand. Popped in at lunchtime to ask should we book a table for the evening or was that not necessary and Barman said it would be wise cause they're very busy. So he took my name and booking. Sorted!! Or so we thought. Returned 35minutes before our booking time and stood with a drink downstairs. Both main level and Basement were crowded with folks and most of the dining tables had reserved tickets on them although there were people sitting at them. At 6:58 I went back upstairs and spoke with the same Barman as earlier and asked for my table. After much deliberation and discussion with another chap they had to find me a table...they hadn't reserved me one. We ended up back downstairs at the end of a table for 6 not ideal for just 2 folks. But by then we were hungry and couldn't face going elsewhere however we had to endure the conversation from the other shouting people at the table. Meal was good but waiter not really interested and I understand it was busy but no personal interest or attention. Sorry Brewdog...
