Me and my mother popped in today (3rd of April) quite late, almost closing time. Despite these we were allowed to have a look and my mum, who’s passionate about antiques was taking a long time to choose some souvenirs from the shop. Unfortunately, the card machine was not working and after considerable amount of tries we gave up and were about to leave when the two lovely volunteers paid for my mum embroidery frame and give it to her as a gift!! The building itself is well worth a visit, the research is good, the translation into a visitor friendly experience is not too bad. Only three stars because the experience is let down by the indifference of the staff. But if you take your time to have a read it's actually very informative and has some really interesting stories to be told. Unfortunately due to the age and design of the building it's not at all suitable for persons who cannot ascend/decend on a medieval spiral staircase with no solid hand rail.
