Lovely cute museum and good for like half an hour of you're just looking but about a hour if you're stopping to read everything. They provide you with an information leaflet and would answer any of your questions. A good place to visit while in Aberdeen. Walking distance from the city center and also the maritime museum.

A very interesting museum, entrance is free. Any ladies who visit it would be a good idea to wear a pair of flat shoes, as the stairs are steep narrow and winding to say the least. Be sure to give a donation on your way out, to help keep this fantastic museum open.

Spent Christmas with Mum here this 2019. Such a quiet and peaceful place. Although it all looks greyish, it’s still beautiful. I love the uniformity of granite buildings. Lovely Scotts as well. :)

Me and my mother popped in today (3rd of April) quite late, almost closing time. Despite these we were allowed to have a look and my mum, who’s passionate about antiques was taking a long time to choose some souvenirs from the shop. Unfortunately, the card machine was not working and after considerable amount of tries we gave up and were about to leave when the two lovely volunteers paid for my mum embroidery frame and give it to her as a gift!! She burst up crying and was overwhelmed with emotions because she really, really like it… so please if you’re in Stonehaven make time to pop in this lovely little place and once again BIG THANK YOU to the lovely volunteers who where so kind and generous and quite frankly made my mum...

A very interesting place, no doubt about it's importance in the history of Aberdeen. The building itself is well worth a visit, the research is good, the translation into a visitor friendly experience is not too bad. Only three stars because the experience is let down by the indifference of the staff. We've spent almost an hour in the building (it's quite small) trying to engage with the staff as there are a few unanswered questions in the displays, but were not able to start any kind of conversation. A...

Very informative with lots to see. It's not a huge place so don't expect to be in here long if you're not into reading all the information. But if you take your time to have a read it's actually very informative and has some really interesting stories to be told. Unfortunately due to the age and design of the building it's not at all suitable for persons who cannot ascend/decend on a medieval spiral staircase with no solid hand rail. But if you can manage it it's worth...
