It was like stepping onto the set of a cosy sit-com. The owners were chatting warmly and wittily to regulars about books, the weather and how they'd deal with space travel. The refrigerating unit holding cakes would periodically make a whirring sound and they joked about it being a Tardis; it was so lovely that I did indeed feel like I had been transported to a different dimension.
The place is clearly a labour of love as such care had been taken over the decoration and layout. I lounged on a luscious sofa.

Tiny little shop with the biggest collection of decorative teapots and wall signs. A snug corner with sofa for those not eating and a few tables. No loud music playing so you can actually sit comfortably and talk to each other. Old fashioned? Yes it is, and so much better for it. Fairly old fashioned prices too by comparison - I hate being ripped off for a cup of coffee! This place is now the weekly venue for our Ladies who Lunch and Eat Cake Group.
