The Thatched House — Restaurant in Arun

First time visiting since new owners... Still using the previous tenants menu, but chef assured that a new menu was due to be printed soon... He told us what he could do and explained what was available, we were a large party, so some chose from menu whilst others went from his spoken choices... He said no more sandwiches, now ciabattas and went on to explain fillings... We ordered and waited some time, landlady came and said we would have to wait longer as there were other parties in and as we took to long to order we would have to wait - maybe get your menu done or special boards then the chef wouldn't have to explain what he could make etc..

Also we had no prices until we went to pay.. And it was pricey for not very inspiring food... We all appreciated that you are relatively new to the pub game.. But as customers we shouldn't be expected to let you know a few days ahead if we wanted plant based food ...

It was also very cold in the pub, one small heater was working away trying to pump out minimal heat to a few people waiting for their lunch etc.... Wishing you well for the future but as a large group who lunched as a group regularly we were all...

Came here for a lovely meal with my family for a birthday celebration and it was fantastic! Came in and was promptly greeted by the two owners Mike and Alan who i have nothing but praise for, created a fantastic pub with great atmosphere and a fantastic range of drinks, alcoholic and non-alcoholic too! Sat in the garden for a few drinks first and it was great, a really nice environment and then proceeded to come in and order out food, we were very pleased with the food. Especially the new tapas on the menu! We stayed until late evening enjoying the fantastic music put on and the great atmosphere that was presented to us, a great place for both a couple of drinks or a sit down meal with the family! We had a spur of the moment "we want Sunday roast" kind of thought at about 11 am on a Sunday... Which we all know, in West Sussex, isn't a thing you should have, as most places are booked at least a day in advance 😉! We searched through Google, and after a few calls, which were all fully booked, The Thatched House popped up onto our feed. I was really happy we came here, amazing team and delicious 😋 food and the meat was buttery soft (check out the vid)... would recommend to people who love to do things on a whim, not sure if they'll always have availability... maybe were quite fortunate, though...

Anyway... need something to do, and don't know where to go... this is...
